  • For number 5, why is it "tomaba?" although there is the mientras before it, people don't take tests as a habitual thing. It is usually one time. Would you mind explaining that to me please?

  • The word while implies you are describing something as it was happening. Any time you are thinking "ing" in the preterite, use the imperfect. And that means always use the imperfect after mientras while discussing the past.@iloveseattle1738
