@Memzounita When you are in the military you have a job.. Example a Cook, A Nurse, a Lawyer, a Mechanic, Chaplin.. HOWEVER you have to learn to shoot a gun and learn various tactical duties in the event your company comes under fire. So while your are in the Military, everyone does NOT see combat action. The typical fighting units would be things like Field Artillery, Combat Engineer, Military Police,etc. So you can have a regular Job and not fight, but. In a war zone anyone can be a casualty
