The old Jet Star rollercoaster that was there before the Hurricane was sooooooo much better. I miss it. Also the old Wild Mouse where the log ride is now was the best! Oh the good ol days at the Boardwalk.

i remember i was scared to death. it was 5 years ago when i was in the 4TH GRADE!. it was the only roller coaster ive been on in my whole life. and i was really scared on the first drop, but then the rest you cant even feel it. i closed me eyes most of the time lol.

Ah, the Hurricane... Such a fun roller coaster. I've lived in Santa Cruz my entire life (14 yrs) and have only ridden it once, yesterday after waiting in line for 30 mins. Freakin' tourists!!!!

Adventureland in Farmingdale, NY also has one of these Hurricane coasters. They are pretty rough for a steel coaster. The spirals are very tight though, and the drop loop in the middle is almost vertical. The last turn in the last spiral is banked about 80 degrees. So while not the biggest or fastest coasters, these Hurricanes do deliver a potent ride. The only downside is that they don't have a good 'first drop'.

That's my local park, Adventureland, that I always go to. The Hurricane there is so rough and espsecialy that middle turn.

Yeah, I found that surprising, considering the old Galaxi coaster at Adventureland was actually smoother. Overall the ride is 'cooler' on the Hurricane, but I do miss having a good drop. The Galaxi had two good drops, but really not much else. Just a couple spirals. Even though the Hurricane doesn't have drops, that almost vertical drop loop is pretty intense. For my tastes though, when it comes to portable coasters, the Schwartzkopf loopers are hard to beat.

SDC made excellent products. They are very well built. For one their Amor Express (A Musik Express ride) is probably the fastest ever made. They were very attractive as well AND they had the canopy. There are other SDC favorites of mine. However, when it comes to portable coasters...I would have to give the award to Schwartzkopf. He made excellent riding loopers that didn't need the over the shoulder restraints. So thumbs up there.
