I love eating fruit in hot weather, some days I don't have an appetite for cooked food in the summer.

The sangria is also great in the heat(I guess a doctor would disagree!lol). But really, when it is too hot to do anything else, might as well relax and drink with friends!

Arthur this is my favorite drink (alcoholic) ! How did you ever know. I have a great story about star fruit, in santo domingo they are known as "carambola". This has another signifigance as a "carambola" is when you sink the white ball in billiards? Any way, after years and years of drinking sangria, i never knew it had rum. No wonder i like it. I heard it has very hot where you are the past few days. Perfect weather for a glass of sangria !

This is my favorite recipe that a friend used to make, and we were able to buy out of a guys garage in Puerto Rico(before they put tougher restrictions on alcohol sales). There was one place in PR that made it with 151 proof rum, and only charged 1 dollar a drink(about 12 years ago).

Some sangria recipes add brady instead of rum, or just wine.

It was VERY HOT! After a storm yesterday, it is like heaven today, Especially with all the free water for the garden!
