I've had diabtes for about 8 years, im 13 it is really a lot about adjusting and getting used to it. The hardest part of i tis having to explain it to people. There are only 5 kids that know about my diabetes. Do i wish i knew what to say to those people? sure but some things are just better to keep a secret.
Samantha really doesn't want you to feel sad for her. She's great. Living with diabetes is hard work and requires a lot of vigilance. But she thrives and is very successful at living her life. This disease needs a cure, not sadness and sympathy. She would much rather you feel inspired by her, than sad for her. But thank you very much for your comments!
i have type one :( but im living my life and i hate it when people say that its a minor disease or its managable because, EVERYDAY is a struggle...having a balanced reading would be my dream for one day...the days i try they never get there but the days i dont sometimes im lucky..but i can still do everything i want, diabetes is always still my priority though, ive had it 8 years and im 14. Ive been on the pump awhile it changed my life! (: I had no one who knew about it, Good Luck dahl. x
wonderful video. my story is almost exactly the same, except i was diagnosed in my early teen years. you had someone w/ diabetes in your family and so did i, my mom. she was such a help and i'm sure your papa was too.
your right, even though we know we will have to live with this for the rest of our life we still get up and enjoy what we have. i am 13 and got diabetes when i was 5 it's hard at a young age because you don't understand, but living with diabetes will bring you challenges everyday, but we diabetics we are strong and brave enough to overcome them.
hi! i really understan what she goes throught day by day! it is really inspiring for us to se how there are other people who go through the same .. i was diagnosted also whan i was 4! i woul love to contact you

I just saw this video and boy did it bring back memories. It's like watching myself in the past. I was also diagnosed shortly after my 4th birthday, so I know exactly what she's going through. I am now 24 years old and will in a few days be crossing my 20 year mark with type 1. My inspiration was seeing her Papa - 50 years with type 1... gives me something to look forward to. :-)
your video gave me the courage to get an insuln pump. I was diagnosed when i was 18 monthe old, in 1990. I am now just getting the courage to get a pump after 17 years of shots. Your daughter is inspiring.
Wow! Thank you for sharing that. Congratulations on making the decision to try the pump! It takes a lot of courage to try something new and different. We wish you nothing but the best of luck!
I'm so sorry for her. Not as though its a bad thing, well it is... You get me...? Well, I'm near enough Samantha's age, and hey, my name is Samantha! But I'd never possibly live with this. ;] She's much braver then me!
my 1 and a half year old baby died because of a sickness that i dont know the name in inglish because i dont speak english. me and her dad wanting a baby for 12 years and whene we got her she passed away. u dont know how happy we were especialy her dad. i hope that does not happen to anyone else. it's so sad.
I am a type1 of 26 years, and I find this to be unbelievably inspiring. Sam is going to have a wonderful life full of adventure love and yes challenges, but challenges that will make her better & stronger for humanity. God bless you Sam!
Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a comment! Yes, she will have a wonderful life. She is strong and brave and willing to take on a challenge! All the best to you and your health!
