  • Did Kevin just hit the third octave A?

  • I love Lunasa, but ever since Donogh Hennessy left the band, a lot of the heart left too. Paul is great, but Donough was something different.

  • great

  • Thanks for the comments, guys!

  • @StephenORegan Thats beautiful whistle playing man at the beginning. Beautiful tune :)

  • Wonderful, wonderful playing and very cool choice of tunes. (I am puzzled, though, as to why they choose to drop a beat at the start of the second tune (at 2:09). They do the same thing in their recording of the same set on their album "Se". It is an odd beat to drop because they are transitioning from a jig to a slip jig, and the dropped beat is the downbeat of the first bar of the slip jig. The rhythm structure is not really clear, then, until the B section of the slip jig comes around.)

  • Lunasa world class and gorgeous playing :D x One of my fave bands now xx

  • Great stuff!

Just read the "more info". Lunasa was started by Sean Smyth, John Mcsherry and Steve Cooney - not Sean. Donagh and Trevor. Mike McGoldrick was then brought in and when Steve couldn't commit the other two were asked to join the band. McSherry was also with Coolfin at the time. McSherry + McGoldrick left - Smyth and the others have since rewritten the band's history. They've been telling this story so long they've convinced themselves its the truth - remember their first gigs well

  • Good comment! Never understood why they are so insistent on changing the history of the band's origins. Sour grapes on their part maybe!!

  • @greenbea9 You missed out Trevor.

  • @greenbea9 You missed out Trevor.
