  • for an american plane, maybe make the parts in the USA and make jobs. not send it over seas to have shit made. i live in seattle and it would be nice to say its all built in the USA. i like planes but not a big fan of the DreamLiner.

  • be proud america - truly amazing

  • I live in seattle :0

  • Thank God all this time and delays payed off!

  • this plane is so gay !!! It also has Rainbow Colour Lights inside !! :)) LOL

  • My friend is a flight attendant with ANA; I hope to see her on a 787 to Japan 1 one day. Maybe we can join the mile high club...wink wink!!! I'd do it &i know she would too...

  • Its called autoland

  • this plane looks gay ! pussy style

  • @kmdroell lmfao

  • @kmdroell true, it should be more like A-10 Thunderbolt ;)

  • I love Boeing. I hate the media.

  • thanks to all them aeronautical engineers we now have a beautiful plane

  • inconspicuous flare

  • I love it when you're on a plane, and just before you start moving, the engines get really REALLY loud :) I wonder why Thomson airways (First airliner to have these planes in the UK in 2012) have different engine covers (they have like a squigly line on the backs of them) ??

  • Very smooth landing. PERFECT!

  • get a capture card you fucking loser

  • We are looking forward too having it first @ Air new zealand

  • Biggest does not necessarily refer to the overall size of the aircraft. Isn't it true that the 747-800 freighter has a larger cargo capacity than the A380? At any rate, biggest will probably be measured in sales and longevity. I don't think Boeing has to prove itself in the Biggest category. Do we really need bigger aircraft? How big should the biggest be? I love the Ukrainian super jumbo which they've only one prototype of. It's a fantastic airplane, but ridiculously huge.

  • hey boeing you got the build a bigger plane! the 747 + wide bodies has been pass up.YOU are now #2 because you allowed yourself to relax with good enough, has the leadership fell asleep at the wheel ???? your 787 is nice but it still smaller than airbus, people want a huge plane REMEMBER WHY EVERONE WANTED A 747 ?

  • beautiful

  • its always amusing watching other people talk about aircraft when they're actual job has really nothing to do with it :P

  • absolutely Amazing..

  • I remember this landing like it was yesterday. I feel so lucky to have been at Boeing Field on Dec. 15. The interesting thing about this video is that I didn't really expect Wolf Blitzer to be covering this.

  • overall good plane.. looks beautiful but can someone please agree with me why boeing wont make an airliner safer and updated with modern technology and fast like the concorde to go to erope in 2 hours and 30 min... I mean technology went a long way since the concorde and they can make it more fuel efficient and safer. And keep ticket prices the same as they are now

  • why make a plane with such higher cost than these? the concord cost millions of dollars to british and french companies on the upkeep. we have the technolagy yes, but u can not think in "your self". make, use and if possible SELL to other countrys! airbus made it possible for a twindeck comercial jetplane, that could carry the double of the passengers of an B-747 thats 2 747's flying at the same time for the same destination, more efficient and stuff. thats hat boeing needs to do.

  • @ladiesman940

look for the boeing sonic cruiser in wikipedia maybe you can find the answer to your questions

  • Actually, Boeing did dip their fingers with the Boeing 2707. The program was shutdown though. This was in the 60s and 70s though. It's not really a matter of safety, as the Concorde was a very safe plane. Its only disaster was caused by another jet. It's just to expensive probably. I would really love it if Boeing started producing the MD-11 again, but that is not going to happen.

  • @BusterBunker that would be sweet to see them make the MD-11. Now that plane is a bad ass plane. I wish there was more of them flying around. I liked hearing them take off and makeing the turns, the sounds of the engines just kicked ass.

  • That's smooth.. you would barely feel the hit.

  • very smooth landing..

  • no it wouldn't....

  • Why not?

  • That wouldn't be funny for you if you were in the airplane...

  • Gotta love the idiotic questions from Wolf and loud commentary to ruin an otherwise beautiful and historic event.

  • Im not sure I understand why anyone would compare this to the A380, they arent even in the same class. The A350 will be the 787's competition after all, the 747-8I will be the A380's main rival. Beautiful plane, go kick ass Boeing!

  • Ya know, I really miss Miles O'Brien on CNN.. and I'm sick of Wolf Blitzer. Just wish they'd shut up and admire the beauty of the landing itself (either that or that brit has a really grating voice.)

  • I hope they stop outsourcing it so much, not a single part was made in Seattle.

  • As I recall, the tail is made in Seattle.

  • Good, I didn't know that

  • @tzkelley & bigtones05:

you both have a good point.....i meant to say that the a380 is no longer the only impressive airplane out there.

  • They're both excellent aircraft, each with its own purpose. The A380 flies between hubs, the 787 will fly direct between lower capacity routes. Each has a market - they 787 will no doubt have a much higher volume of sales. The A350 will be the real competitor to the 787, then the A320/737 replacement race will begin, with thousands of aircraft sales at stake......

  • you cant get a better landing with 2 captains in the flight deck

  • what a landing!!!! it's a perfect airplane....now you can say that a380 is officially dead.

why?......this plane is cheaper and more advanced ...from the landing you can know it's the future of flying.

@gunlover2010:maybe u aren't interested but many ppl are also the problems in the construction process makes this flight a legendary one...that's y...also maybe u'll fly on it one day because it'll make flying cheaper

  • i wouldn't go so far as to say the a380 is "dead," i mean there are a lot of carriers that really like the airbus' long range and high capacity mix. the 787 is some stiff competition though.

  • @MrZoma24 The A380 and the 787 don't compete with each other; they serve different purposes.

  • I have to say that as an engineer who worked for 2.5 years on this plane ... it is extremely gratifying to know that it performed flawlessly on its first flight. All the frustrations and issues over the past two years from stupid suppliers to lousy structural models and inept management are FINALLY behind us. Now let's get testing!!! :)

  • @eskercurve Just out curiosity what are the maximum projected flap angles?

  • @eskercurve I love Boeing!!!

  • i think the perfect airplane combination would be a380 a350 and 787 the best plans you can get

  • @gunlover2010 He did!!

  • damn i missed ELVIS.......

    nice comment ,made me laugh

    wildcat1559..happy holidays 2 you

  • @gunlover2010 You don't fly anywhere? This is the hottest selling plane in history and if you fly anywhere you'll eventually be on one.

  • tzkelley...i hear ya...sorry ,i can't get excited by a plane....

    megan fox ...yeah

    a plane ....no

  • @gunlover2010 Well, you have me there!

  • It's a beast! I've flown big jets in FS, but I'd be scared to try this monster out.

  • These are supposed replace the 747's, right?

  • no these are to replace 767 the 250 seat market

  • Good, the plastic jet can fly. Now get to work and fill those damn orders!

  • Beautiful

  • Does somebody know the role of those two small jets that were with her in the air during entire flight?

  • they are there in case a mishap happens such as the gear wont come down or go up they can video tape it or photograph it. in case they need a visual to solve the problem

  • the jets might have been there to film it or maybe just to keep a visual on the outside of the plane to see any problems. maybe both.

  • They are there to document and film the entire flight, so they can go over the data later on..

  • To pilotman088, this is the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner Prototype!

  • was this the 787 3,8or,9

  • @pilotman088 It was a 787-8

  • hopefully it doesnt end up in bermuda triangle

  • Flying with wheels down is a safety option. Basically one less thing to worry about not working, just incase an Emergency landing is needed. Gear up and Gear down will be tested in the next 12 months.

  • to: Officetube68

extra engines means extra dead weight if they go...long story short it really isnt too much safer

  • it costs like over 1 million dollars for each engine! LOL

  • so? you expect planes to be cheap? lol. they will make tons of money from these planes

  • i love it beautiful plane but i wanna sk something

were the wheels all the flight out?

  • Yes Boeing on the first flight always leaves the wheels down.

  • oh kk thanks

  • I can't stand that moron. Will this plane be safer than others?? Have they fixed all the problems?? Obviously, it just flew IDIOT!

  • @ejuoi That's what McDonnell Douglas said about the DC-10 during its maiden flight, fool.

  • Wolf Blitzer asks "Are you confident that they fixed all those problems?" seconds before touch down. What a moron.

  • 羽、長げー!

  • 787 and 777 is tied for my favorite plane...

  • Wolf Blitzer is such an idiot. Especially with anything technical.

  • Get a life.

  • i spent two years working on that bird i'm pleased to finally see it fly

  • @richie963 My mom works for Boeing she was excited too it finally fly!

  • Sorry about Wolf Blitzer's commentary but I couldn't avoid recording it ... at least it wasn't Katie Couric!!!
