half of the things you said to do on this tutorial you dont do.. i think its a preety bad tutorial and i hope no one will learn from it beacuse the techniques here are wrong
@yahavgold well u sir a bloody idiot if you look at the comments you would be surprised how many people have just started to learn backflips so screw u
Thank you so much man this really helped! I went from a slow hand flailing backflip were all I could do was land on my hands and feet, to a faster hands tucked to knees backflip and now I'm landing on just my feet with no pains like I was getting before. Turns out my tucks were way soft and my hands were not grabbing my knees at all, thanks again man.
it happened by landing n my neck, and i think i injured my left arm because it keeps hurting so much, i can barely move it up and down,:'( BUT I AINT TELLING MY PARENTS! they would kill me!!
This so epic, and not the Over used use of the word. This is something amazing, the agility and capability of the muscles in the human body working uniformly to propell the body that high and to rotate. Nice.
I'd say Backflips are harder, owing to the fact it is easier to tuck frontwards, rather than backwards. Not that you necessarily tuck into a ball, but all the same.
@stvncrnw93 Yeah just make sure that you can come down. I once learned how to climb this 3m structure an I had no confidence in coming down, my friend had to get a ladder from the near by store.
I'm 6"2 and 85kg, I'm not fat, but not skinny either, I do a lot of sport, running and weight training actually. I've always considered myself an athlete but not an agile sort of acrobatic person but I'm going to try some parkour :)
Your guys tuts are freaking amazing. I couldnt have figured out an easier way to do this. Gay music though. No offense. This one wasnt as bad as the others.
You can learn the arm motion and tuck while lying down (try how they do it on: watch?v=521NIVPIxWs). Backward rolls help too. If you practice 10 jump-ups, 10 backward rolls and 10 lying down per day, you'll get great height and rotation. ;)
This is absolutely great, because I don't have access to a gym, therefor I don't have access to foam pads to practice doing it alone on. Only bad thing is that my scrawny ass self is going to have a hard time helping my friend do this. At least he'll have an extra easy time helping me.
Hey dude im a gymnastics coach and this is a very well done tutorial. u should be proud. u explained everything from how to get the confidence to lead up to it to actually doing the technique itself. these excersizes r a lot of the same ones i use for teaching them to my students. u should be very proud. looking forward to seeing more of ur tutorials. i enjoy seeing how others teach the same stuff i do
man that was the best tutorial ever. im gunna try it and my brother will spot me. im well skiny but really tall, not very good strength and im 15 so have u got any tips 4 what moves i should try frist in parkour!? PLZ COMMENT BACK TNX
THANK YOU SOO MUCH!! Ive been wanting to learn how to do a backflip. And I love how u teach how to overcome the fear, which i need to do! THANK YOU!!!
This is an interesting spotting method and I kinda like it for people who are learning. My one issue with your explanation is the 45 degree angle part. Back tucks are supposed to jump straight up and tuck (which is what you look like you do when you throw it). Jumping back at all, let alone at 45 degrees, tends to cause people to have a low, long back tuck instead of getting as much height as possible. I'd counsel against telling people to jump back on a standing back tuck...overall good tut.
I think the idea is not that you jump back, but that at the top of your jump, you lean back, helping initiate the tuck. I don't think this would lower your flip at all, as long as you stalled it. Still, to each his own, and whatever works for you works for you =)
ya u never want to throw backward that initiates ur set towords the ground. and u want to gain as much height as possible. u set up and drive ur knees into ur chest. but seriously pay attention to this tutorial. im a gymnastics coach and these r the same drills i use to teach it
I did pay attention to the tutorial, and it definitely says 'When performing a backflip, our set needs to go backwards on a 45o angle.' I was just saying that if you're going to lean back, do it at the top of your jump, where it can help flip you around without causing you to jump backwards, as opposed to straight away, when it will cause your set to lose height. =)
lol i get that all the time!!! i'm full practising balance on a pole or something, and someone walking past that goes to my school is like, do a backflip!! does it look like im doing anything concerning flips at all?! no! ... i feel your pain man dw =)
167# at 5'9, how is that fat? Maybe might be a bit out of shape in terms of body mobility. I am 5'10" and 165. You are not too far off. Just training slowly to build your muscles slowly and progressively. PK is a great way to keep yourself in shape.
ahh i tried till step 2, but on the step where a spotter is needed, my fuking stupid spotter turned me so hard, that i fall on the street right on my ass. lol
why a frontflips harder jsut less scaryer... i learnt frontflip 1st i gunna learn backflip soon as i get back from holiday i used to be able to do them they jsut scary since i ahven´t done one in AGES!
i always love watching these and know i could do them if i tried for a change but i never get the courage to ask my friend if he wants to go to the park and watch me fail a backflip all day :]
Alot of the other Backflip tutorials are very lame ~ they usually have this huge 1step progression from jumping straight up, right to doing a full backflip.
But you guys have made this a comfortable progression, where there is barely any risk..
