  • You guys are brainwashed. You do realize this guy said that beatiality is alright if the animal is OK with it? He even wants to change the definition (and has changed it quite a bit in the APA) of sexual perversion to: Any sex with a non consenting being. To Frank, ANYBODY can say yes or no so he believes in pedophilia, bestiality and wants to fight for pervert rights. Why anybody would honor this perverted freak? I do not know but he definitely is burning in hell.

  • Frank Kameny... RIP

  • If the nation knew the truth about the tactics used by queers to overturn laws and medical studies concerning their "lifestyle," the populace would be shocked. Queer activists are the the most hateful, bigoted and intolerant people in the country.

  • @bgibb101 How does it feel to be part of the moronic and ignorant minority? Your ideas are more in tune with the Big Foot Society than science. Get a life.

  • @reflectivelife - Medical science has proven beyond all doubt that queer sex is dangerous, unhealthy, life-shortening and psychologically damaging. Politicians and health professionals are often afraid to speak the truth for the sake of political correctness and being hounded out of their jobs. Homosexual practicies cause horrific health destroying and often fatal medical probelms. You are not interested in facts any more than you are interested in science, hence your name calling....

  • @bgibb101 You can't debate someone who gives no back up for what are basically conspiracy theories counter to every peer reviewed, mainline, medical and psychological research debunking your quackery. By mere fact that you use the term 'queers' in a disdainful way shows your bigotry. You are not interested in sincere science or even the walk homosexual people have had to have in this world. Your interests lie in justifying your bigotry thus there is nothing left to do but call you ignorant.

  • @bgibb101 Here is a piece of FACT that has been studied. The most homophobic men are those that feel guilt for the arousing feeling other men cause in them.

Go to psychology today's website and link /blog/the-big-questions/201106/homophobic-men-most-aroused-gay-male-porn

Now there is some research you can take to the bank. Does thou protest too much? Me thinks so. Can your hate. Love yourself and then you will love others. It'll make you feel better.

  • It makes me so proud to see our gay and lesbian brothers and sister fighting for their civil and human rights in a day and age that doing so put them in grave danger. I honor them and their courageous work!

  • What's with all the spiteful mental midgets on here?

  • Love you all, Keep up the great work changing people minds and views..... THE WORLD IS CHANGING BECAUSE OF YOU.... Thank you

  • There are a few facts that need to be addressed. People are very ignorant about homosexuality.

    1) Gays do not choose and are not born into their sexual orientation It is more complex. There are ZERO studies that have been replicated that show there is a gay gene. Twin studies show that in cases where one identical twin is gay, the other is usually not.

    2) 40% to 50% of persons with Same sex attractions have been victims of Childhood Sexual Abuse

    (CSA) or rape.

  • References to studies showing that sexuality is not genetic and that many gay men were abused as youths.

    J. Michael Bailey et al. (2000) Genetic and Environmental Influences on Sexual Orientation and its

Correlates in an Australian Twins Sample, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, March 78 (3), p.

    524-536.

Lynda Doll et al. (1992) Self-reported childhood and adolescent sexual abuse among adult homosexual

and bisexual men, Child Abuse & Neglect, 16, p. 855-864.

  • Agreed. I've never been raped but have encountered experimentation with other males when I was a small kid. They turn out to be straight though.

  • Wow, what a guy! Approves of sodomizing animals, invented "Gay is Good' and now, finally confesses, homosexuals whole plan is to get society to transform to their ways, so they don't have to be civilized. Perhaps the one thing this perverted mentally unstable freak should really be remembered for is that he actually made it to old age without dying of AIDS or Drug/Alcohol overdose. I wonder if he'd also prefer we transform to being diseased, drugged, drunken, dying, dickheads like him?

  • wow ive never seen a gay old man

he even has the lisp, and the "im better then you" attitude bahahahhahahha

  • Keep in mind that Frank Kameny is the man who was instrumental in having homosexuality removed, as a formal disorder, from the American Psychiatric Associations Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM). Would you want this homosexual mentoring YOUR children?

Google: Gay Rights Icon Frank Kameny Says Bestiality OK as Long as the Animal Doesnt Mind

  • I agree with you completely.

  • Desperate denial this seems to be what drives the deceit, psychological manipulation, and intimidation of both scientific groups and the public.

  • and same-gender sex activist Randy Shilts describes the denial among men that have sex with men, about their unhealthy lifestyles causing AIDS to be epidemic among them when he writes, the desperation of denial: how when something is so horrible you dont want to believe it, you want to out it out of your mind and insist it isnt true, and how you hate the person who says it is. (And the Band Played On, 1988, p. 182)

  • Another lesson is that same-gender sex activists are so desperate to cover their deeply dysfunctional condition that they will stop at nothing to hide the facts from the public. Award-winning writer

  • When unethical political movements dominate science, pushing science in unscientific directions, science suffers and leads society astray. One lesson from these facts is unmistakable: every time a scientific group repeats the same-gender sex movements propaganda, you may justifiably suspect that these groups are acting out of ignorance or intimidation.

  • Science, a supposedly reputable publication, must have been intimidated to risk their own legitimacy by published such shoddy work.

  • If Dr. LeVay was not able to draw a proper sample and to fulfill other basic requirements for a scientific study, why did he conduct the study at all? If the study was not done for scientific reasons it must have been done for political reasons. Indeed, LeVays study was part of a public relations campaign, (the born gay hoax) to make the public believe that individuals were born gay.

  • Could the AAAS have been thinking about pressure from gay scientific groups when they published the poorly done studies by LeVay (gay brains) and Hamer (gay gene)? Two scientists who protested the LeVay study raise serious questions about AAAS, Science, and same-gender sex

  • Association in deeming homosexuality not an illness. (The Long Road to Freedom, pp.115) The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) publishes the scientific journal Science, intimidation by same-gender sex activists was over for them. Under pressure from gay scientific groups, Science magazine banned anti-gay bias in its staff hiring and advertisement. (The Long Road to Freedom, pp.214)

  • In the book, The Long Road to Freedom the author writes, JanuaryThe American Psychological Association and American Association for the Advancement of Science echoed the American Psychiatric

  • On that same page, this book tells us that, The Centers for Disease Control estimate that gay or bisexual men account for as much as one-third of the syphilis cases in the U.S.

Apparently, the American Psychological Association also got the message of intimidation, because they caved in to same-gender sex activists in 1975.

  • A same-gender sex activist and writer, Leigh Rutledge describes the attack in her book The Gay Decades, June 16, A fist fight broke out at a Philadelphia playhouse when ten gay activists interrupt a lecture by Dr. David Rueben and denounce him as a criminal for his views on male homosexuality. One policeman and a protestor are injured in the melee. (The Gay Decades, by a man that engages in same-gender sex and writer, Leigh W. Rutledge, 1992, p.69)

  • Later in 1974, same-gender sex activists set their vicious sights on an individual member of the American Psychiatric Association, Dr. David Rueben, who was perhaps the best-known psychologist in the area of human sexuality at the time. Unbeknownst to Dr. Reuben, same-gender activists were lying in wait outside one of his lectures, and his physical safety was at risk.

  • Anytime a scientific organization endorses same-gender sex, remember Gittings words: They are running scared. Same-gender sex activists have learned that intimidation works and they are never hesitant about using intimidation, psychological manipulation and deceit to reach the goals of their radical agenda.

  • The APA was thoroughly intimidated. Later in the same year (1974), after the APAs vote, Gittings was interviewed by a historian of the same-gender sex movement, Jonathan Ned Katz. Gittings brags, Thats how far weve come in ten years. Now we even have the American Psychiatric Association running scared. (Gay American History, by Jonathan Ned Katz, 1992, p.427. This interview was taped July 19, 1974).

  • Barbara: It never was a medical decision—and thats why I think the action came so fast. After all, it was only three years from the time that feminists and gays first sapped the APA at a behavior therapy session to the time that the Board of Trustees voted in 1973 to approve removing homosexuality from the list of mental disorders. It was a political move. (Making History, p.224)

  • Kay Lahusen and Barbera Gittings know what really happened to the APA. In the book, Making History they are quite open about the reality.

Kay: This was always more of a political decision than a medical decision.

  • On June 23, 1970 same-gender sex activists disrupted yet another meeting, this time in Chicago, be repeatedly shouting down the main speakers discourse. (Ibid., 275) Then, in October at a meeting at the University of Southern California, same-gender sex activists shouted down a speaker and then took over the stage and the microphone. (Ibid., pp.276-280)

  • Same-gender sex activists took over the podium and microphones. Then, Konstantin Berlandt, of Berkeley GLF, paraded through the hall in bright red dress. Paper airplanes sailed down from the balcony. With two papers still unread, the chairman announced adjournment. (Ibid., p.274)

  • sensations (such as electric shocks) to homosexual stimuli. By the time the meeting was over, the feminists and their gay cohorts were in chargeand the doctors were heckling from the audience. (The Gay Militants, by Donn Teal, p.272-273)

  • The Gay Militants, a book about that time, adds details, On May 14, 1970 psychiatrists became the hunted. An invasion by the coalition of gay and womans liberationists interrupted the national convention of the American Psychiatric Association in San Francisco to protest the reading of a paper by an Australian psychiatrists on the subject of aversion therapy, a system of treatment which attempts to change gay orientation by keying unpleasant

  • Gittings took place in the disruptive attacks (saps) on the APA. She states, I am not opposed to sap tactics. In fact, I spearheaded a sap at a psychiatrists meeting and Im ready to do it again. (The Gay Crusaders, p.234) Barbara Gittings recounts, The 1970 convention in San Francisco was disrupted by a group of feminists and gay men who were enraged by what the psychiatrists were saying about them—and newspapers all around the country carried the story (The Gay Crusaders, p.216)

  • But the sickness label infected everything that we said and made it difficult for us to gain any credibility for anything we said ourselves. The sickness issue was paramount. (Making History: The Struggle for Gay and Lesbian Equal Rights, 1945-1990: an Oral History by Eric Marcus p.221)

  • Psychiatrists were one of the three major groups that had their hands on us. They had a kind of control over our fate, in the eyes of the public, for a long time. Religion and law were the other two groups that had their hands on us. So, besides being sick, we were sinful and criminal.

  • At one American Library Association meeting Gittings set up a same-gender kissing booth, to attract attention to the same-gender sex. Gittings tells about her activism against the APA. Besides the ALA, I was also very involved, along with many other people, in efforts to get the American Psychiatric Association to drop its listing of homosexuality as a mental illness.

  • Lahausens lover, Barbara Gittings was a well known activist during this time as well. Gittings was the first head of the American Library Association Gay Task Force, although she was not a librarian her objective was to bring books advocating the same-gender sex movement to the attention of librarians in hopes of having them included in libraries

  • He had never been besieged by a bunch of homosexuals before. But he had said something that got us going. (Making History: The Struggle for Gay and Lesbian Equal Rights, 1945-1990: an Oral History by Eric Marcus p.216-217) (Author Marcus has worked as an associate producer for CBS This Morning and Good Morning America.)

  • In same-gender sex publications, however, activists are remarkably candid about the reality of the vote. For example, Kay Tobin Lahausen, co-author of The Gay Crusaders describes a variety of activism. We did all sorts of protestsWhen the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations came out of some meeting and got in his big black limousine, I remember going crazy, rocking and beating on the limousine

  • (The Long Road to Freedom, ed. by Mark Thompsan1994, p. 105-106) Dishonesty and intimidation had won the day for the same-gender sex movement, and when activists publicly claim that this vote was a scientific decision; they hide three years of deceit and intimidation.

  • (with-out identifying itself) and they sent creepy letters to all members urging them to vote to remove homosexuality from the DSM. Bruce Voeller, the head of the NGTF admits, Our costly letter has perhaps made the difference.

  • It should be noted that the number of Yes (5,854) made up only 32.7 percent of the total membership of the APA. Only slightly less than one-third of the APAs membership approved the change. It should be further noted that the National Gay Task Force was able to obtain APA members addresses and the NGTF

  • Total APA members eligible to vote: 17,905

Number of APA members that actually voted: 10,555

Number of members that Abstained: 367

Number of No votes-votes to keep homosexuality in the DSM as a mental disorder: 3,810

Number of Yes votes-votes to remove homosexuality from the DSM as a mental disorder: 5,854

  • After the vote by the American Psychiatric Associations Board of Trustees, some members of the APA, led by Dr. Charles Socarides called for a full vote by the APAs 17,905 members. (The Long Road to Freedom, ed. by Mark Thompsan1994, p. 104)

On April 9, 1974, results of the vote were announced. Only 10,555 of the 17,905 APA members had voted in the election. The results were as follows,

  • the APAs board of trustees finally caved in to the demands of same-gender sex activists. Another same-gender sex activist Mark Thompson writes, Just before the first of the year, the American Psychiatric Associations board of trustees declared we were no longer sick. (The Long Road to Freedom, ed. by Mark Thompsan1994, p. 97)

  • -gender sex activists, Andrew Sullivan, in December of 1973 the APA, under intense political pressureremoved homosexuality from its official list of psychiatric disorders (Love Undetectable, book by Andrew Sullivan, 1998, p. 107) Under this intense political pressure

  • of what happened in 1973referring to the widespread protests by the gay and lesbian community that led to the APAs dropping homosexuality from the DSM. (The Advocate, 12-28-93, p.40) As a result of the pressure, in the words of the prominent journalist and same

  • change the approach of psychiatry toward homosexuality or, failing that, to discredit psychiatry. (The Gay Crusaders p. 130-131)

Same-gender sex activists continued to pressure the APA through 1973. A same-gender sex magazine, The Advocate, talks

  • On June 7, of the following year, 1971, Franklin Kameny wrote a letter to the Psychiatric News threatening the APA with not only more, but worse, disruptions. In this letter he states, Our presence there was only the beginning of an increasingly intensive campaign by homosexuals to

  • Ironically, at the very moment Franklin Kameny was claiming that same-gender sex was healthy, safe, and natural, a deadly virus was silently passing through communities of men all over the nation as a result of the promiscuous, unhealthy nature of the sex they were having. Only a decade later, thousands of men would be dead or dying, of AIDS.

  • psychiatrists looked on in disbelief. For us, as homosexuals, your profession is the enemy incarnate. We demand that psychiatrists treat us as human beings, not as patients to be cured! (Newsweek, 8-23-71, p.47)

  • We are here to denounce your authority to call us sick or mentally disordered, shouted the groups leader, Dr. Franklin Kameny, while the 2,000 shocked

  • in the movements most aggressive demonstration so far—a group of 30 militants broke into a meeting of the American Psychiatric Association in Washington, where they turned the staid proceedings into near chaos for twenty minutes.

  • Led by radicals like Frank Kameny, same-gender sex activists attacked many psychiatrists publicly, as Newsweek describes, But even more than the government, it is the psychiatrists who have experienced the full rage of the homosexual activists. Over the past two years, gay-lib organizations have repeatedly disrupted medical meetings, and three months ago—

  • Of course, public sexual activity in parks and public restrooms contributed to societies negative views about the types of people that did such things, but scientific opinion was crucial in the public attitude.

  • In 1970, psychiatrists generally considered sexual desires toward members of ones own gender to be disordered. Karoly Maria Kertbenys term, homosexual was the official descriptor for those inflicted by this mental-physical disassociative disorder. Psychiatrys authoritative voice influenced public opinion, which at the time was negative toward same-gender sex.

  • Let us, for a moment, rewind to the year1970. In this year, same-gender sex activists began a program of intimidation aimed at the American Psychiatric Association (APA). Activist Frank Kameny states the movements objective clearly, I feel that the entire homophile movementis going to stand or fall upon the question of whether or not homosexuality is a sickness, and upon our taking a firm stand on it (The Gay Crusaders, by Kay Tobin and Randy Wicker, p. 98)

It was never a medical decision—and thats why I think the action came so fastIt was a political move.Thats how far weve come in ten years. Now we even have the American Psychiatric Association running scared.-Barbara Gittings, Same-gender sex activist

  • A great man, and a true pioneer of the Gay Rights Movement. When he he spoke before the Equality Forum in Philadelphia in April 2008 he was received like a hero with applause and standing ovations.

  • And now he's supporting bestiality. No fucking surprise. This guy's the king of the degenerates.

  • Yes, hats off to you and all the others who so forcefully coerced the APA into changing its views! Hurray for perversion of the scientific process! If they had come to the conclusions they did through study, then I would have no problem with them. Evidence suggests, though, that scientists were politically coerced into accepting homosexuality.

Not that gays aren't nice people. I simply don't agree with them.

  • And hurray for racists, homophobes, and bigots.

Not that racists, homophobes, and bigots aren't nice people. I simply don't agree with them.

  • Assuming you're calling me one of those, I'm actually none of those, but there were a series of political actions that influenced the scientific process, namely the APA, during the 60's and 70's that coerced the APA into accepting homosexuality as normal. I'm not saying it's abnormal -- I'm saying that we should arrive at that conclusion scientifically, not politically.

  • I have never been a member of the APA, so I coerced nobody.

There are political elements in every field, including scientific and social science fields. I believe the change was appropriate. Those who advocate ex-gay counselling advocate counselling that has been linked to suicide and poor mental health. A sexual orientation is not something that can be cured.

In my opinion, those who wish to convert gay people to make them straight are homophobic and homonegative.

  • The person in this video is one of the people who coerced the APA into changing its views. I wasn't attacking gay people, just this person. Anyhow, just about anything coming out of the APA at the moment is questionable at best, because everyone seems out to find the evidence that supports the conclusion, not the other way around. It's pretty much the same on the other side, though, among those who say homosexuality is wrong. There is no scientific justice in this field.

  • The APA was blatantly homophobic for many years. I don't buy the fact that the APA was forced to do anything wrong. The reality is there is no scientific research to support the fact that all gay, lesbian, and bisexual people are mentally ill. I read journals, so I disagree with you.

If a psychologist is not capable of getting over his personal moral position, he needs to never work with GLBT people, or go into a different career area.

  • I can respect those who are open and say, "I don't like homosexuality," and have the integrity to make that position and to not try to get into questionable science to support their personal opinions. I have a lot of problems respecting you for your comments here.

  • You're again misinterpreting what I'm saying. I'm agreeing with no one in the APA here -- beforehand, maybe they were homophobic, but the manner in which they switched their position to the polar opposite was far from honorable.

From a personal standpoint, I disagree with homosexuality, but that wasn't my problem with this video. I strongly disagree with the actions of the person in this video, and I don't think we should be honoring him in any way.

  • Ever consider the idea that homosexuality being "abnormal" by the EPA was unscientific to begin with???

  • I don't think the APA was very scientific before OR after this incident, but just because something is ideologically inconvenient does not make it unscientific. The proper thing for this guy to have done would have been to start encouraging honest science, not throw a temper tantrum like a whining little kid.

There's too much bias in both sides of this issue right now that I absolutely cannot believe either of them based on the sets of evidence they present; therefore, I make my own choices.

  • Quite simply, no. I think that's a ludicrous suggestion, given the obvious behavior abnormalities that many homosexuals exhibit. The phenomenon should go under actual study as opposed to shying away from truth in the name of political correctness. In the event that they ARE harming themselves, it's far worse to comfort them and tell them it's okay just to make them feel good as opposed to telling the hard truth.

  • I thank those in the GLBT community who came before me and fought to make life eaiser for future generations, I can only hope to acomplish as much in my life time, Mahalo!

  • Hats off to you, Frank, for being a true pioneer of equal rights! Gay IS good.

  • The reasonable man tries to adapt himself to society; the unreasonable man tries to adapt society to himself. Therefore, progress depends upon the unreasonable man.

     ----George Bernard Shaw

  • Thank you Frank, for helping to improve the social situation for gays everywhere. I know I wouldn't enjoy the freedom of expression I have today as a young gay man if folks like you hadn't stood up for our rights.

  • Thanks Frank for helping to pave the way for the rest of us. God bless you, blaine

  • Thank you, Frank, for your contribution to the fight for civil rights in the U.S. You are worthy!
