So they took Sam under their wings, nurtured him and tried to "market" him, but didn't work out as ABS expected it to be. IntenXity: Good observation! LBS was done to bring out the best young singers here but with ABS's end view to capitalize on their talents. We can't deny this. So they took Sam under their wings, nurtured him and tried to "market" him, but didn't work out as ABS expected it to be. The point here is if they really believed in Charice's talents, she could have been recruited by ABS as a potential talent and put her in their talent center. But was she considered? No as later events showed.

No she never came from ABS, the contest happened to be in ABS, yun lang. ABS was never there after she lost the contest. She was never in a contract with ABS, she was a nobody for ABS, until now.
