  • I didn't hear about these fires when they were going on, but my heart goes out to those that lost their lives and/or homes in these firestorms. I lived for many years in the bush of Alaska, had a house burn down and survived a few fires, but this looks to have been the mother of all firestorms ever. I am just in awe of the Australian communities that have worked together during this disaster and take my hat off to the amazing people down under.

  • Thank you all for your comments.

  • actually, according to my dhs-employee mother the property loss in bendigo was abour 75.

  • it is great how the bendigo community has helped each other out after the fires.cfa, dse, emerg services we cant thank them enough

  • we were so lucky in sparrowhawk estate due to wind change i feel so sorry for those nearby who lost all

  • A well constructed video that serves as a grim reminder of natures fury.

  • A house my family owned burnt down in this fire luckily no one was home at the time

  • I can't believe this happened in Bendigo! As a good community we will all stick together and help those people, rebuild. My thoughts go to everyone effected by this devastation, I live in Eaglehawk and it was to close to home for me!

  • yeah man we went over to sparrowhawk rd to see what the deal was and saw all these houses on fire and just watched, nothing we coulda done, it was horrible

  • So awful, the devastation, and it came so close to my home!

  • Such devastation, so fast.

  • Gut wrenching stuff.
