@dadurenren Sorry but Asimo is nothing but an expensive marketing gimmick that no regular person would be able to afford. Where was Asimo during Japan's Earthquake/Tsunami? They had to rely on military helicopters to get them supplies, and robots from America and the UK to check Fukushima. At least BigDog can climb over rubble to look for survivors, and help bring supplies during disasters. Even if the updated Asimo attempted to do the same, it would fall over and break.

@TooBigToHide Military use in places like afghanistan with crazy terrain. It's hard to see the point because robotics is such a relatively young field, with a very long pipe dream. Seeing this today and then looking at what it becomes in the next 20 years with further technological improvements (primarily in powering the robot i suspect) and it will seem archaic, but a very necessary step in developing the more improved robot of the future.

@TooBigToHide Haha that would be crazy, the progress in Bionics and replacements for lost limbs have taken many strides in recent years. Amputees have more control than ever before and some of the newest bionic arms have equal or greater lifting capabilities when compared to a human arm. Now the big challenge is getting a connection between the Amputees brain and the artificial limb. Improving control, and providing a sense of feeling in the arm are also the next steps in the field.
