You can't sue for the redemption cards because they put in the little print a (contract) that says if the card is never produced or signed then they will send you a card or cards of equal or greater value. They won't go bankrupt by being sued.
i havent read all the comments so if this has been said im sorry......i hate the expiration dates. Its not food it doesnt spoil.Seriously, in theroy they make the same # of cards to match the redemption but if you dont get it by a certain you cant have it?I guess if they're not taken from the warehouse by a certain date they must self destruct.
what I think really deserves a rant is their packaging and collating, I mean empty boxes of ultimate, hundred + dollar boxes with 3 commons and no hits, 13-14 of the same base card in one case of premire and 2 babe ruths n another case,
13K!?!? which logoman was that?? Personally I had no prob/w UD got my redemp inside 2wks packed well fed x sig required...Topps on the other hand..pulled a red hot rookies redemp and was told not to expect it till feb 2010!! WTF!!! the whole f'n 600+ card factory set is already out and you cant tell me you dont know who the hot players are, but I hear every 1 n 10 is auto'd and 08's go 4 60-70 bucks nomatter the player so if i get one of those all is forgiven.
Great video and I agree with you!!! Years ago Upper Deck was very, very good at giving me at least three times the value of the original card that was to be redeemed. But lately I don't know what the heck happened!!! Nice job!!!
right on, that happened to me. i bought a jordy nelson spx rookie auto redemption off ebay #D/199 and was told it was out of stock, but i got lucky with the replacement card. michael turner rookie auto. nice replacement. but you are correct, i asked what happened to the cards, and they said if one is damaged when shipped they replace it, so i got mine after some were replaced, so i agree with you whole heartedly. great video. congrats...
I bought a couple SSC tins a couple months ago and got two redemptions. One was a Dave Conception and the other was a Tony Gwynn Sepia. Both were listed as inventory depleted and I was told by an Upper Deck employee that the Gwynn was never made.
I was pissed at first because of the Gwynn, but after receiving my replacement cards I was very happy. I ended up getting a Sandberg #'d to 40 and a Mark Grace on card auto'd jersey card #'d to 30. Two nice PC cards that I would much rather have.
I was under the impression redemptions were made because they hadn't gotton the auto's back from the player, is that right or not? Like on the Octo was that not produced because they couldnt get all them to sign the card??
As far as "abolishing" redemptions, I totally disagree :) Some of the best players autos come on redemption cards. Also, UD does a pretty good job with their redemptions. Topps on the other hand UGH! They take FOREVER!!! These athletes commit to sign and its their fault if they don't, not the company, (UD for example.) Also, UD does a great job (for the most part) at working with you in the rare occasion that a card isn't available. They at least ask what else you might like - Topps Won't at all
I love it!! I like when people disagree with these topics....that's why I'm making them...wait til i get to the good topics like religion, politics, welfare.....lol
It all depends on when the player finally signs and IF they ever do. The card companies want to give you autos of the top players that you want and theses players agree to sign and get paid for it then they take their time getting around to it.
yes i totally agree! ud said its "out of stock", then about 1 year later they said "they lost it in the mail, sorry" RRRRRRR makes me soooooooo mad!!!

Topps also has did me the same way with a redemption from Topps Leterman
And what is now Panini still has a redemption of mine that i sent in when the company was Donruss..
.I agree 100% if the card can not be sent out exactly the way its advertised then they should have to just do away with Redemptions...
