  • I guess it's easier to carry than a Beta C Mag. The 60-round magazine seems more handy, though.

  • If this magazine is reliable I can see every seal team wanting these just to cut down weight instead of lopping off the end of the barrel and butt stock of the SAW just to save a few ounces.

  • This guy who keeps worrying about barrel changing is driving me crazy. There is a plan in place to replace the SAW with an AR with a very cool open bolt system anyway. The one disadvantage was the magazine size. This 60/100 round mag shows proof of concept and I'd like to see how well they have improved the "coffin" magazine design.

  • not practical, can't go prone with it, not practical in any real situation, makes weapon its self heavier bulky, will snag on things. Looks like a great fun toy though. Just can't see a military application for such a thing this large

  • @starsiegeplayers How many times have you tried it in combat? Have you even shot it at all? You would be surprised at how practical it is actually.

  • @NOLATAC especially in the east right now. You are not going to be sitting in one place for long.

  • @starsiegeplayers

Why? It's not much longer than a russian RPK 45 rounder and a lot of the troops in their Afghan war and in Cheneya (sp) seek out those mags. Dont knock until it till you try it man. And like another poster stated have you ever been in a real fire fight with this mag? If not? Then you have know Idea do you?

  • @starsiegeplayers

But I do agree it would be a fun albeit expensive toy addon to use with your AR. I can just imagine all the burned out barrels this thing is going to cause LOL. But this sucker is just too heavy. I have shot this mag in England during a demo. And for myself it's just too heavy especially when running a piston system AR like my sig 516. And when transitioning to a secondary just too unwieldy for my taste. But I do like their 60 rounder tho again its heavy.

  • @starsiegeplayers Are you in the military?

  • Love it are ya going to do some for the ak 47

  • Hey I saw Chris.

  • Aaand what if your laying down???... impractical... this myth is BUSTED!

  • @Peabush For the 100 round mag, yeah. But I think the 60 round mag is not really any longer than your standard 30 round mag.

  • @ALJR223 The extra rounds are held in the fourth dimension, not in our traditional three. That's how it doesn't get any longer despite being double the capacity.

  • @fulsame1 Standard AR magazine....7 inches. Surefire 60 round magazine...8.6 inches.

  • nice concept though

  • @why760nitro How much should it cost in your opinion?

  • @NOLATAC ye sit is people pays for wants and this is a want 2 30 rd P mags don't cast that much they are nice but i will keep my 120+dollars in my pocket

  • @NOLATAC

LOL Don't HOW much is should cost. But it's a $129 at "cheaper than dirt". Way too expensive for a single mag.

Although it's military use only an Ares-16 mag/belt system is a much better alternative as it uses standard M249 boxes and standard m16 mags.

Sorry but this thing imo is mainly a gimmick for the public. And before you ask yes I have been in the service here in Germany. And no I'm not a air soft/modern warfare expert . ;)

  • WWWWWWWAYYYYYYYY over priced

  • I would love to take some of these if I'm deployed (the sixty round mags). He's right, the more time you're able to put rounds down range, the better your chances you are of surviving.

  • these things make the m249 obsolete. just load up the SAW gunner and A-gunner with these bad boys.

  • @joeratti shooting that many rounds, you need quick barrel change.

  • @joeratti Hardly, the belt feeding is way better for this amount of rounds, and as said, barrel changes.

  • @MrThomPS3 a person can only carry so many rounds. these actually make it easier to to carry more and everyone can use them

  • @joeratti That's true, but it doesn't give a saw gunner more firepower.

If you would give everyone in a squad this, it would(Maybe that's your point).

I don't think it would work very well though, if you look at the L86 of RPK kind of weapons, you know, the mag fed weapons intended for a saw kinda job, these weapons have been replaced in their respective armies.

  • @MrThomPS3 those heavier machine guns use bigger caliber ammunition. the saw uses 5.56 which is why these can replace the saw if everyone has them.

  • That vertical profile must make it a bitch and a half to use the rifle prone.

  • that is a huge magazine, but i do like the ability to remain on target 3.33x longer

  • Wow... An ammunition feeding device... I remember back in the day we called them magazines (mags) for short. I am so impressed now surefire makes both ammunition feeding devices and darkness eliminators which sounds way cooler than mags and flashlights.

  • @mjgjr706 its not a flash light its a dark-sucker. Its been scientifically proven

  • thats is a long mag Id do the 60 rounder

  • @miltnxc123 Me too. 100rd version is too long and heavy. 60rd version seems a good option.

  • thats a strange way to hold the gun :o

  • @rabbiteh maximizes control, the technique has been around for many years in competitive shooting and LE.

  • I could see these being very useful with the USMC's new M27 IAR

  • @EchoOfLohengrin Pretty sure that was the original target market.

  • what optic is that?

  • @aroccop T1 Noob!

  • what optic is on there? what red dot is it.? great video! going to get 1-2 of these ASAP!

  • @aroccop Aimpoint Micro -1 on a Larue Mount...highly recommended.

  • @MushroomPictures No problem. We know Scott very well, and he is kind of a joker himself.

  • @MushroomPictures It's called humor. WHen you have a friendship with someone, sometimes that happens.

  • location: Canada

    100 round magazine...pinned to 5.

  • dude that thing is sick...........well done my freinds, hope it is a success

  • these are california legal right? lol jk......sigh*

  • If they make them any longer he can rest his gun on the ground with it.

  • 60 rounders look more "aesthetically" pleasing

  • Is that a B.O.W. Sweater ?!? lol

  • @TGxHITMANx It is a techwear shirt that a lot of guys ordered as "jersey's" for shooting matches.

  • I'm all about having the extra rounds, but 100 sounds like it'd weigh about the same as a boat anchor.

  • Thanks for wearing my paracord bracelets guys! Great video!

  • lol was that chris costa?

  • @luzac159

There were several guys. Yes, one was Chris.

  • @NOLATAC chris is the man :)

  • I think the 60 will be great for the Marines future replacement for the M249 SAW.

I also think if they could make the 100 wider and shorter it would also be ideal for that weapon system. Going prone would get a little difficult with the 100.

  • @moto0311 Thats what drum mags are for. Like the Beta c mag with small dual 50 round drums.

  • @killerex010 Yeah, but they have reliablity issues: Since they feed in rounds from an angle, they sometimes get jammed. A vertical mag avoids that problem.

  • great vid !! 5*

  • I am thinking the 60 will be tits. Should have some of each to do a full TE on hopefully after SHOT.

  • Awesome.

  • i want the 60 wonder about the price

  • @GhostStan MSRP $130 60 rd $180 100rd

  • @vashguud Allways High Prices from surefire products
