The MLS 16 attaches to the MOLLE vest and then you can attach either a female MLS or QLS to the MLS 16. Check out this page if you would like to see a good example

how do you attach the MLS receiver plate to the MOLLE webbing? I don't see how the QLS receiver is different from the MLS, it stills seems you need another piece to connect the webbing to the MLS plate.
