  • Does anyone know about any memoirs out there written by ex-CUT/Summit Lighthouse members, or the children of members/ex-members?

There's lots of books written by kids who grew up in similar religious "cults", but I can't find any about CUT besides the one book written by Prophet's own daughter, Erin.

If anybody could tell me about any 'growing up in CUT' style memoir books I'd really appreciate it. My dad was super into CUT - Like to read about other families who went through all that :/

  • @TheDurationPlusFive ~ Yes, The Duration Plus Five, there's an excellent self-published paperback authored by John Joseph Pietrangelo, Jr., "Lambs to Slaughter: My Fourteen Years with Elizabeth Clare Prophet & Church Universal Triumphant" … You ought to be able to find it secondhand & lightly used somewhere online. Good luck & safe journeys …

  • @Clematisian THANK YOU!! :D

  • The real shame is that some of the materials Clare borrowed from (same w/ Guy Ballard or Alice Baily) are no more and no less authentically Christian than the earliest translations of Matthew. They’re not unchristian, Satanic or vitiating—the fact they were both Christian and intelligent is what allowed her to sway persons raised in fundamentalism. If she had consigned herself to being a scholar, rather than a commander of survivalist wackjobs, she could have done some educational good.

  • My mother has followed these teachings since I was very young and I hold a lot of them to be very inspiring and true. I do believe that there is truth to the heart of every religion and that we all have the potential to reconnect with God. However, it is also interesting to see the other side of the issue. I have heard that Mrs. Prophet admitted to misusing power, which leads me to suspect that she was just as human as the rest of us, but perhaps somewhat more in tune with higher spirits?

  • @yutubesexy you don't have the true words of christ, they make it up and you believe them. i am not a member or a believer CUT but i hate when one group of deluded people complain because another group believes something different. grow up people. yes i am speaking n general not to you yutubesexy specifically

  • @Yothuyindi09 Unfortunately The stuff that Mrs. Prophet claims besides The Jesus in India story(which is the only Truth that existed prior to her knowledge),are Completely Made up works of Fiction. There are No Ascended Masters in any theology, polytheism or Gnosticism to support such ideas. She Clearly made it all up to start her own cult of worshipers to abuse & brainwash. This lady is a complete Fraud(charlatan) just like The Catholic Church!

  • @Prepare4Buddha YES JUST LIKE THE CATHOLIC CHURCH & ALL OF NATURE! It is part of Natures cruelty to be this way. It is part of the order of Chaos to manifest & have these constant deceptions that the HUMAN MIND PRODUCE! NO OTHER ANIMAL DOES THESE THINGS EXCEPT THE HUMAN. NO other animal can do these foolish kind of things....

  • @Yothuyindi09 The Part about Jesus going to India,Tibet & Kashmir is actually True. There are ancient documents written in various oriental and asiatic languages including Sanskrit,Arabic, persian, tibetan, etc. These documents talk about a saintly figure known as "Issa Masih" which translates in english to "Jesus the messiah" also in Kashmir they have local legends of a similiar figure named "Yuz Asaf" meaning "Son of Joseph" These ancient documents can be found in a Tibetan buddhist monastery!

  • @Yothuyindi09 Finally Someone with a Brain!

  • Thank goodness that Elizabeth Clare Prophet is finally dead! She should be rotting in the lowest pits of hell! She had sex with DOZENS of men on her staff while DEMANDING celibacy from her staff! All of her children are STILL covering up for her and her church. They, like their mother, are spineless and gutless hypocrites. Moira Prophet had written a book--Purely for Prophet-- with the help of writer Kathy Schmook. Erin intercepted the publication of this devastating tell-all book.

  • Many investigations since then showed that most of the Jonestown deaths were forced, murders, not suicides. Not defending the "CUT", but getting mighty sick of the bogeyman associations with known cults like Jonestown and the wrong facts concerning suicide vs murders.

  • Does CUT still exist?

  • @naarpetra Yes. The group is much smaller in recent years, but believers still try to keep things going. Google search 'The Summit Lighthouse' or 'TSL.org'. After their oracle, Mrs. Prophet became ill and was unable to continue (Alzheimer's dementia), the organization went through a number of restructurings. Evidently they have more recently dropped the 'CUT' emphasis and reverted to the earlier persona (The Summit Lighthouse). Mrs. Prophet passed away last year.

  • Claire Prophet sure made a 'Clear Profit', huh? lmao xD

  • How things change with time. Back then, I would have been repeating what Erin was saying. Now it's clear that Moira was right. CUT was just another cult. It might have turned out differently if the ascended masters were real. Note that, today, none of the Prophet family members want to have anything to do with the religion.
