It's interesting watching your video. I too have a 2001 sebring 2.7 V6. I have removed the two valve covers and want to remove both cylinder heads and have them redone. I've been following the manual about setting TDC and have a pretty good idea except when it says that TDC should be set on compression stroke instead of exhaust stroke. Would you please tell me how I can tell the difference between the two? Thank you. I am a new at this and want to do it right.
@Shcubbebah cost for me is from $300 to $800 depending on how far im taking the rebuild......i rebuld quite a few of these......and when i'm looking to buy one i would rather it be DOA so that when i rebuild it....it will be done right.
i am needing to set my 2.7 camshaft s when i set on the dot s they do not line up factory manual indicates yellow arrow on left bank nearest radiator uses the yellow arrow to line up would you have any pictures or video showing this
@MrBass077 try this video - 2001 Dodge Intrepid - Waterpump Installation - part 3
the arrow is used to let you know the cam direction is facing up.....it is important to have the cam chain between both cams at exactly 12 links from one another...there is a small circle dot on both cams to line up the cam chain at 12 links.
I have a chrysler sebring with the head not set and am having trouble would you know if the yellow arrow on the left bank is used to position cam sprocket to main chain or do you have foto of camshaft at top dead center having problem timing both heads to crankshaft
@MrBass077 there will be the marking on both cam gears and the oil pump housing. on the primary chain there should be 3 postion marks on the chain to alignment with the cam gears and oil pump housing.
The 2.7 is known for having sludge issues and dieing at 100,000 miles or before. Saying this, I had one in my 2000 intrepid and got 165,000 miles out of it and then sold it.
Where do you find the timing that say 60 It say it need to be 60 ATDC
Any help?
