I miss this band terribly. I loved the balance between the razor sharp guitar and new wave synth sounds. I managed to catch them once at the Knitting Factory and they blew me away.
saw them in 96 i think in chapel hill--i still can't compare anything else i own to their sound. the guitar player is now a DJ known as The Juan MaClean. He put down the guitar and picked up turntables and mixers.
I wish you had not have mentioned this. I went and checked this Jaun thing out and it was worse than I could have imagined - house disco new wave caca. 6FS have just reformed and he is out there still doing that horrible music.
Some fuck stole my Cd wallet in '06 with severe exposure and and paranormalized in it. I found out they are both out of print on SubPop(unlike other subpar bands on their roster) and I've been hawking the used bins since with no luck. Life hasn't really been the same since.
best band i've ever seen - fucking hair raising. moog duct taped to a bar stool - singer diving over it to mix it up with the audience. so many bands are ripping them off - some without even knowing it. if severe exposure was released today it would start a major label bidding war.
Electric - only way to describe these guys. Saw them so many times, but I never got to see them perform this album, what a drag they split up! They were SubPop's best band, hands down, and one of the best of the 90s.
i'm not sure because of the microphone placement but the travis bean is most of the recorded sound. but great band most people won't "get".

Picturing #DeathMetalDouglas68's disgusted face while listening to 'Happy House' has made my day. Rock on, you old fogey!

Check out the band "Health", if you like the 6fs sound. Only band I've heard in 10 years that is close.

Sub Pop's best band ever. Nobody has rocked a Moog harder.

@fluxkit Tim Taylor from Brainiac rocks harder on the Moog by far. But no disrespect to J. Ryan though. 6FS is so sick.
