I`ve the short body one, diesel engine....At the moment the best 4x4 I've had. After travelling 7 or 9 times to Morocco, since june'05, never -I say NEVER- needed help, but, of course, we helped same others -Defender, Nissan, Jeep-..... so, in my opinion, the best 4x4 in the world... You can look into Dakar Rallye pages...

nice car, but I believe is way too big and heavy for off roading , probably the two door version and off road tires will help more

Monteros are great cars in off road really but the land rovers are better

i have keep a defender 90 but doesn't work like pajero.... pajero better, but non with electronic control, i prefer the version with superselect and mechanical differential lock. like my one

yes. defender is a nice work truck...but montero is much more powerfun and have a better traction... and indipendent suspencion, try it on twist... the best

In latest paj is traction control and difflocks. The pajs rear locker is btw airlocker, and very good one.

New land rovers better ? Ahahah, they go whit traction control only. New montero have 2 x 100% differential lockers and traction control. On realibility montero is also a lot better than land rovers. But land rovers have nice suspension.
