I actually liked the Korean fighter's style, very heavy and deliberate. Apparently not the most effective, but I think there were admirable qualities in both kenshi.
yo use wing chun en un torneo de vale todo en mi pais y gane a a personas q usaban capuera kendo jujipsu karate taewondo krackmaga y me gano mi amigo que tambien usa wing chun creo q el wing chun es la mejor arte de pelea que ay
Woah was just casually searching for some kendo vids on youtube n i gotta say the japanese was so graceful. Calm, not sure how to put it exactly.. But he/she just somehow kept puahing the korean to e edges of e ring
The only difference in Itto-Ryu Kendo as we know it from the AUSKF and Dae Han Kumdo as the IKF know is it etiquette. How a person chooses to illustrate it well hats another potato all together. I have seen great proponents of both disciplines and poor ones of both. The difference is in opinion. A real swordsman would not care about the discipline of which is better only to find his/her center and perform with a beautiful spirit.
Furukawa-sensei wasn't given a point for the tsuki at 1:47, but if it were a real sword, shinken, the opponent would have surely been dead. It was such the formidable tsuki.
@xTasogare well we don't have to be talking about samurai everyone had a katana back then and when not at work the samurai didn't wear armor. Unless if someone wants to make the argument that they slept in bed with it on. lol
@xTasogare Actually it was a very honourable match. White had a better spatial awareness and used it to his advantage when he sensed his opponent was tired - completely fair. On top of that, he left no openings which made it very difficult for red. Red was lucky the match went until jikan (time), the hiki-gote (backwards moving wrist cut) looked payable.

I love how the Japan kendoka patiently backed the korean player out of the ring. Not really attacking but still being agressive.

what a big difference between Kendo and Kumdo... the Korean guy fought like a butcher, can't find anything graceful from him at all...

1:47の古川先生の突きは一本取れなかったけど、もしあれが真剣だったら相手は確実に死んでいただろう。恐るべく強烈な突きだ。

@6shige9 if it were real swords, then they wouldn't just run into each other's sword like they do, would they?

@bluealbedo Actual Samurai had armor, which would have prevented such silly shenanigans like running into your opponents blade.
