I don't advocate war. But I also don't advocate joining a military organization and then when it comes time to do what that organization does, I don't think it is right for these people to go to Canada when they joined the military of their own free will. I could see them taking off after they served a tour of duty and they are sent back over there like what is going on right now. There are some guys on their 5th and 6th tour in Iraq and Afganastan!! Its not common knowledge but Ho Chi Mihn said after the rolling thunder bombings of North Vietnam in the late 60's that if it weren't for all of the Pussie Hippie demonstrators in the U.S. that they would have sought peace with us. I did 9 years active duty in the Army as a 19K primary and a 13F secondary. I elected to get out 1st, because I knew too many guys at 18 years who hated being in but were stuck with having to do 20 years and 2nd, I realized the majority of the military is just cannon fodder for the Wall Street goons who really control this country. Patiotism is all nothing but bullshit made up by rich people to trick the poor into fighting their wars. My son? He will NOT enlist, I have made sure of that.

I've always wanted to meet one of the folks who went to Canada during Vietnam. I heard a lot of noise back then but NO-ONE living in America thanks to Jimmy Fucking Carter seems to want to admit to this act NOW. I knew a couple of men who took that road including one ex-Marine but have not seen or heard from them since. A Canadian buddy of mine told me for every 1 american who went to Canada to dodge the war 15 Canadians came south to join the American military. I'm 67. Want to meet?

The weirdest thing is the change in the definition of "draft dodger."

When the Vietnam War was going on, the only person who had the honor of being referred to as a "draft dodger" was someone who was drafted and chose to take illegal means to avoid the draft (like going to Canada).

Individuals who took legal means to avoid the draft (like going to college) were not considered draft dodgers.
