@jason60152 Wouldn't matter. Duran would make Mayweather fight the way Castillo was able to do so. Only Duran is faster, more skilled, and more powerful than Castillo. In the 2nd fight with Leonard, Duran was weight drained and it was still a competitive fight. But a prime in shape Duran on top of his game at his best, defeats Mayweather at any weight 147 or below. At 154, I think Mayweather wins.

In fact, Oscar wasn't the same fighter at 154. He was slower and tired quicker than ever. Hopkins has nothing to do with this.

Any hardcore boxing fan will tell you those guys are not "no namers" by any means. These are former WORLD CHAMPIONS and former POUND 4 POUND fighters who fought and beat the best. Neither Forrest nor Vargas are in that class. Very good fighters but not great. Great fighters don't lose to the likes of Mayorga.

After the Leonard fight, Duran blew up to 230 pounds and his trainer left him and he just partied and didn't train. All that is on "Beyond The Glory". No lies. But prior to that, he was the best p4p fighter in the world up there with Leonard and had been for about 9-10 years beating the best at lightweight. Neither Forrest nor Mayorga can compare to that.

No way.. Hearns gives Mayweather the Benitez treatment. Floyd is too small and not powerful enough to get to Hearns. Hearns decisions him clearly. At welterweight, Floyd ducked Cotto, Paul Williams, Margarito, and is currently ducking Manny Pacuqiao. So his competition COULD be better than at lightweight but he fought the best guys there and din't at 147. Leonard would stop Floyd in a similar fight to the Benitez. Would be competitive. But Floyd doesn't punch hard enough to get his respect.

Doubtful Hearns would punch himself out against a guy who doesn't have a high output. Hearns would keep Floyd on the end of his jab and hurt him with those right hands. Hearns typically would put on 10 pounds whereas Floyd puts on 5 before fighting. Leonard did beat Hearns but he had to come through some SERIOUS fire to do it. He had to take alot of right hands. @jason60152 Duran was only truly KO'd by All time greats such as Hearns which anybody would of been KO'd by him if they attempted to box with him or charge at him with disadvantages. I wouldn't count his TKO losses from Leonard because he was never knocked down in that fight because he wasn't trained well and also wouldn't count TKO losses from Joppy or Lawlor because Duran was aging and was declining more at those points.
@jason60152 and as Duran's trainer, Freddie Brown, said that he had seen Jack Johnson, Benny Leonard, and Harry Greb fight, and felt that Duran at his very best would have beaten all of them P4P. That should tell you all you need to know. But keep in mind, his losses to Hearns, Benitez, Hagler (whom he gave a tough fight) were all past his prime, which effectively ended when he gave up the lightweight crown...

@jason60152 Wouldn't matter. Duran would make Mayweather fight the way Castillo was able to do so. Only Duran is faster, more skilled, and more powerful than Castillo. In the 2nd fight with Leonard, Duran was weight drained and it was still a competitive fight. But a prime in shape Duran on top of his game at his best, defeats Mayweather at any weight 147 or below. At 154, I think Mayweather wins.

Duran would work his way inside and wear down De La Hoya and in a 15 rounder, he stops him no doubt. Oscar was actually 34-35 when Floyd fought him, and was CLEARLY past his prime. In fact, Oscar wasn't the same fighter at 154. He was slower and tired quicker than ever. Hopkins has nothing to do with this.

Any hardcore boxing fan will tell you those guys are not "no namers" by any means. These are former WORLD CHAMPIONS and former POUND 4 POUND fighters who fought and beat the best. That is not the stuff of an all time great. Neither of Leonard, Duran, Hearns, Whitaker, Chavez, or even Wilfred Benitez would have lost to a bum like Mayorga, TWICE. Mosley for his part only had De La Hoya's number that one night and then got a gift in the rematch. Not the stuff of legends.

After the Leonard fight, Duran blew up to 230 pounds and his trainer left him and he just partied and didn't train. All that is on "Beyond The Glory". No lies. But prior to that, he was the best p4p fighter in the world up there with Leonard and had been for about 9-10 years beating the best at lightweight. Neither Forrest nor Mayorga can compare to that.

No way.. Hearns gives Mayweather the Benitez treatment. Floyd is too small and not powerful enough to get to Hearns. Hearns decisions him clearly. At welterweight, Floyd ducked Cotto, Paul Williams, Margarito, and is currently ducking Manny Pacuqiao. So his competition COULD be better than at lightweight but he fought the best guys there and din't at 147. Leonard would stop Floyd in a similar fight to the Benitez. Would be competitive. Doubtful Hearns would punch himself out against a guy who doesn't have a high output. Hearns would keep Floyd on the end of his jab and hurt him with those right hands. Hearns typically would put on 10 pounds whereas Floyd puts on 5 before fighting. Leonard did beat Hearns but he had to come through some SERIOUS fire to do it. He had to take alot of right hands. @jason60152 wow. why is Tarver,Wright and Prince Naseem even mentioned in the same sentence as these other legends they were never in ESPN's 50 All-Time Greatest boxers hell they were never even ranked in the top 10 P4P list even at their peaks. Naseem's good but but once he faces an ATG he get's outclassed and Marco Antonio Barrera just proved that. The rest of these boxers I love watching them and are my favorites but I still don't think they're better than Duran P4P...

@Brownpride480 Tarver and Wright never been KO'd where Duran has.Tarver and Wright has better defense then Duran.Tarver and Wright are more exciting then Duran.What do you see in Duran?Heavyweight is the best division.Welterweight is the second best division and Featherweight was the third best division.Duran wouldn't be tops in any of those divisions.Nobody was watching lightweights fight when Duran was the man of the Lightweight division.Prince Naseem barely lost to Barrera.C'mon man!!

@jason60152 Duran was only truly KO'd by All time greats such as Hearns which anybody would of been KO'd by him if they attempted to box with him or charge at him with disadvantages. I wouldn't count his TKO losses from Leonard because he was never knocked down in that fight because he wasn't trained well and also wouldn't count TKO losses from Joppy or Lawlor because Duran was aging and was declining more at those points.

@jason60152 and as Duran's trainer, Freddie Brown, said that he had seen Jack Johnson, Benny Leonard, and Harry Greb fight, and felt that Duran at his very best would have beaten all of them P4P. That should tell you all you need to know. But keep in mind, his losses to Hearns, Benitez, Hagler (whom he gave a tough fight) were all past his prime, which effectively ended when he gave up the lightweight crown...
