They will never be able to think. They will only calculate as you/we designed their program. Even when they have something like "evolution" they will stay machine and that's less than living human. There is a nucleus of personality which is more than the sum of the behavior (which you may program). So a robot hasn't got this nucleus, only programmed behavior.

By THIS definition of AI I agree. But I think the point is that people think the definition of human is the same at the end. And this is not true, I say. An example of the irritation of thinking about ourself is the character of "Data" in Startrek. It's a robot which wants to get an "emotion-chip" for being human. just improve the fuckin legs finally... There exist robotic arms able to do anything in any position, anytime, anywhere, in nanoseconds, with incredible precissions. So the waving with arms part is nothing. Okay okay its miniaturized... but who cares about the size. (Yep they want to sell them, pay 1000 bucks for a little plastic budy can catch a ball, and wave to the music!)

But these are still not able to lift their legs more than 3-4mm! Thats would be impressive, some leg tricks! do iiit!!!
