@TheHaruNatsumi I guess because it was cancelled by NBC and picked up by Turner who wanted to tweek it up. The show was transformed many times and was undone by the Golden Girls which quickly soared in ratings. Momma continued on in syndication all through the late 80's and through the 90's

I do not remember the episode with the clip of Naomi and Mama in bed at the hotel. Hil-ar-EE-ous!!!! I'm glad I have a box of tissues on my desk, I laughed so hard I was crying. They do not make show's like this anymore, and I think anyone with a close family that has had bad circumstance bring them together can appreiciate this program.  Thanks for the laughs :)
