  • This guy right here is the epitome of what humanity should and can be...a lovely man. We should all inspire connection to each other and to the rest of the universe...don't lose touch of what is real...we have very short lives its not worth spending it in hate.

  • why do not accept the death of someone has actually completed is round of rides.. why do you need a leader to bring some light into your worlds??! isn't what Bill told us to do??! c'mon guys be real and stop this no-sense about Hicks' death and conspiracy theory. he's gone where everyone of us will go sooner or later, at the end of this or the next lives. love all the people and groom your Egos to a better pet!!!

  • Just when i thought i watched every Bill Hicks video, then i stepped on to this... truly amazing.

  • This man was taking from this world way too early in his life. He should still be alive today. He continues to enlighten me to this day and I am addicted to his comedy acts. We need another Bill Hicks, but I know he is still with us all, doing what he can, trying to be heard.

  • @bmuscotty88 Do you think it's possible that somebody murdered? Possibly the government?

  • @ttorres89 Yes it is possible. Cancer in fact is a man made disease. I'm 100% the cia gave it to him O,o

  • @SomeTrespassing

Here-Here! I totally agree with you. And yet, Bill transcended cancer, and became the master of life that he was/is.....he left us a legacy of profound truths wrapped up in satirical, intelligent humor. He is so great, and I am so glad he came to this crazy, schizophrenic world. He helps me to laugh, because it is, as he says, just a ride.

  • @SomeTrespassing cancer isn't there has been cancerous tumors in thousands of accounts in history, it's like UFOS or weed the more u look into it you see it's a important part of our history and has had a influence in man for a very LONG time. i do think you can easily give people it by certain substances. Terence Mckenna and bill hicks were becoming a threat because they broke into the mainstream.

  • what book is he reading this from ?

  • @MikhaelNajera he wrote that

  • Could somebody please post this text?? Been trying to find the book to download it but it's not available anywhere...

  • Time has come to air the voice of reason, in a world gone mad, adrift on banal seas, for all who feel that lies have had their season & whose hearts cry out instead for honesty. For all the weary souls grown bored with dreaming, this thirst for beauty & for knowledge goes unslaked. For all who want to wake from what is dreaming to know what's real & what is real to embrace. For all who've watched with mounting horror, evil's rein upon this world grow ever clear, for all who've prayed in vain,

  • @pgriffs1 Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • emancipators, wielding swords of truth & laughing without fear

  • Wonderful human being. The world needs him more then ever...

(along with people like terence mckenna, feynman, Carlin, Jung, blake to name a few if the rather short list...)

  • @simbanobel

The world needs us to like him, his job was to guide us to The Way. Now we follow it as best we can and help as many people as we can to find it as well.

  • @MrOllieHandro

but but but, then why did the bush government ever exist??

im thinking : not so many people follow ' the way'

im thinking: most people follow the choice to have a donut everyday..... and dont care about anything else.

(not a flame towards you, but its simply not true, people still vote for either the democrat or the republican candidate. how stupid is that? people have no clue what that ' way ' is. they care about their daily donut ....)

  • what a cool guy

  • could anyone tell me what is he reading please?

  • @kpsars

This text can be found in the book "Love All The People".

Counts of the Netherworlds was an idea for some kind of show as far as I know.

In the book you can see the script for it and this text.

  • @kpsars As far as i know this was written by Hicks, possibly with Fallon Woodland.

  • i love this person

  • Ah the time when humorist were humorist and not just puppets making poor sex or islamophobic jokes...

  • @greoar amen :3

  • @greoar ashkenazi's in diaspora are why there are so many islamophobic jokes... the war on terror is a means to an end - zion

    good luck pal

  • Ah, sick. I've read the script for this, but I didn't know that he actually filmed it!

  • wielding swords of truth.....

    Manjushri

  • Hello. Everyone I am starting a blog in a few weeks about enlightenment. Pretty much what Bill set out to do. I want a place where the people that actually think and use their brain have a place to meet. I yet to find one on the internet. All I need is your support and ideas. I have the financial thing cover already. All I need is your ideas and support. Thank You email me to know more.

  • @hermesake

Wait, you haven't found anywhere on the internet where people actually use their brains and your asking for help, input and ideas ...... ON THE INTERNET

  • @deadlizard64 yeah

  • @hermesake

if you have yet to find one then what makes you think you will find anyone here?

Also, I think hicks would throw up a little bit at the thought of blogs ,...

  • to know what's real and real to embrace

for all whose watched with with growing horror

evils reign upon this world grow ever clear

for all who prayed in vain and emancipators

wielding swords of truth and laughing without fear

  • somebody told me that the music you hear on a lot of the bill hicks videos was actually played by bill himself, anyone know anything more about that?

  • its bill on rant in e minor. most of it is. look up his music is fucking great

  • they are actually about to release a whole CD of his original songs. Check out 'moon smiling' here on youtube. He was a talented man

  • yeah its true. goto sacred cow com. there is video of him jamming with his dog... :) Also- check out the bill hicks wildlife foundation. (Yes it is real, been around awhile) Cheers!

  • actually I don't see the clips up on that site anymore- what I was looking for is here... /watch?v=i4xp33jyqIg

    and /watch?v=MmHMz3U0q4U

    both are Hicks music clips.

  • yeah he and kevin booth, his friend put a lot of time into the music.

  • ...I believe so. I read "Love All of the People" and there are several transcript references to Bill's own talents with the guitar. "Arizona Bay" & "Rant in E Minor" were music/spoken words projects that I didn't think he lived to see through post-production. However, I could be wrong. That's just what I remember reading.

  • I'm reading it now...love it.

  • It sure is. Bill was quite the guitarist, so he recorded all the music himself along with his longtime friend and collaborator Kevin Booth. It was one of the last things he did as he knew he was dying.

RIP Bill, we're worse off without you.

  • I know he helped at least one mind for sure ... the world is better because he was on it ...

  • @glennfryenpie he created the concept of "comedy albums". his jokes would be mixed with music so it would sound cool on a cd

  • Can someone send me this in text?

  • 1. Watch video again

    2. Type what he says

    3. ???

    4. PROFIT!

  • *Before Greek Mythology (that's the first source I've seen of it.)

  • Your just using semantics. Ego in our culture has been developed as an overlapping pride in ones own abilities, caused by a false sense of importance throughout. Big-head, Narcissia, etc. All coming down to the same point: It's bad to overappreciate yourself. Andrew Cohen is just borrowing an obvious idea that has been sprung down since greek mythology. As for "deeply ingrained"....yes. We have an 'ego', so it can be affected. I don't know if I'd consider it anything other than culture.

  • I have goosebumps

  • Amen.

  • This man is so important to me.

  • @murderface74 I'd be a different person if I never heard Bill's material.

  • @murderface74

    its logic

  • ah I c. Seems we need another term. hehe =P

  • That's not true - because without Ego you cannot know Self, as it's what provides the stark contrast between the two. It's like light and dark. It's not evil - at all. Also, you seem to be confusing ego with Ego. ego is the confidence you're speaking of Ego is the acknowledgement of self. Ie. I EXIST!

  • kudos

  • What a good brain.

  • All that ego stuff doesn't matter, cause it's just a ride.

  • Ego isnt eveil.....never was and never will be...its not even purpose that differentiates egos...coz to each his own...but an ego without reason...is dangerous.

  • Does Bill remind anyone else here of Jim Morrison in this clip? Not looks of course, just presence, purpose and voice? There is something very Morrison about this clip.Peace

  • it's poetry, you know...

  • thank you for posting this.

  • nahh.. ha

  • Wow... he's just as much a poetic speaker as he is a comedian!

  • Does anybody know what year this was??

  • 400000 deaths from cigs and o from cannabis.

and might i add u dont c people fighting for rights to use tabacco as a medicine.. u do for cannabis... they are liars... potheads represent a counterculture that media fears.. corporations control media... coporations control the products marketed and sold to u...

    hemp!!!!!!!!!! industrial hemp rocks

  • Sorry, but the corporations do not run the world, but you were partially right about that. A few people run everything, including the corporations.

  • Why does the media fear counterculture? I do not think this is a dumb questions because in the eyes of a businessman, which they are, you could make a lot of money with the art that comes from counterculture... and isn't it only considered a counterculture because it is labeled as such?

  • well they have to ACT like its a COUNTER culture or it wont be and where's the money in that?

  • Wow. I had never heard this before today. Brought a tear to me eye. Hes got to have some book with poems in it somewhere! Have any of them ever leaked out?

  • £100 to the first man to give me another comedian who thinks like that.....

    Didnt think so.

  • I'd say that in a sense, George Carlin was the exact opposite of [& as good as] Bill Hicks, as he seemed to have little hope for humanity, and far more hope for the individual [although you'd never know that he had any hope, unless you had seen specific routines, performances, or interviews]. Whereas Bill seemed to yes have a cynical side on the surface, though when you got deep down he was one of the most hopeful for this world, as he could see what it would be like if everyone worked together.

  • Im English mate, iv never heard George Carlin. I know what you mean though, how though Bill seems utterly cynical about the future of the planet and the Human race in general, he is one of the few men who seems to realise its true potential. I quote "Use the trillions of dollars we spend every year on weapons and war, and spend it feeding and clothing every person on this planet... and explore space together, both inner and outer." What a man. What an ideal.

  • Wow, you should check out Carlin.

You may find he isnt as opposite as dimeuno said. All respect to points of view though.

  • Will do, my friend. Happy St. George's day.

  • Spend no money on defense....I noticed bill made fun of the first gulf war as well. So is he a complete pacifist? Just let saddam move in and take over whatever little country he wanted? What about world war 2? I would bet if people bill wanted to be president were always president, we wouldnt have the iraq war or probably the afghan war. But I think my other examples are decent. What to do about north korea? And our brave journalists theyve jailed and will probably kill

  • My friend i must say i agree with you. I have to, im in the Royal Navy. I think Bill realised that his views belonged in an ideal world. This world is not that. Conflict is an inevitable part of the Human condition. And i think we all know that its ony going to get worse. Think Bill knew that aswell.?

  • conflict is NOT a part of the human condition...the same people funding our enemies are the same people funding you! Order out of chaos...the bankers give a country money for weaponry..than cause a false flag attack on the US...than off to war...don't you see its all contrived? War is not mans nature! Love is just like all creatures. People have been led astray. Do what your heart says is right! Don't let the world fool you!

  • I assure you, sir, the world does not fool me. I have seen every continent except scandinavia and i am not easily deceaved. How can you argue the most repeatedly proven fact in history? Humans have been fighting over anything at all since the beggining of our time on this planet. It amuses me that you americans (ecxept for bill) only regard the effect on america when you think about the world. "cause a flag attack on the US"... wait a minute, we wernt talking about the U.S. Conflict is WORLDWIDE

  • that's not true, if love is the only state of conciousness then why do we have to deal with suffering? I believe it very dangerous to ignore one side of the yin yang and rejoice in the other. the symbol should be looked at as a whole and not in parts we are light and dark, our true self and our ego, the shadow self being the doorway.

  • Yin Yang philosophy justifies evil. So you believe evil is human nature? Foolish thoughts! Who do you think is behind suffering? It certainly isn't the Creator/Love. It is the human mind! Which is a tool! Not the creator!

  • i don't follow yin-yang philosophy i just understand how it works. What it means is that the people who do bad things on this planet are secluding themselves from their other half and someone like yourself is secluding themselves from the darker half. If you follow it, both would be cowards and not really awake spiritually just pretending to be one or the other because facing your true nature is to much for you to handle. Both of you are egotistical. I'm only elaborating on the symbol itself.

  • Evil is not something to embrace...it comes from the mind/ego and is not necessary. I do not create suffering as do the elite of our society. I am just trying to tell you that darkness is embracing the ego...and love is embracing the great spirit which exists inside and outside of oneself...not inside the ego.

  • i consider the ego to be the dark side, however, there is a shadow self that i believe is a required part of growth and becoming an adult. without this process you will never truly know what it means to be good, if you've never truly faced your ego and see it for what it is, how will you ever know if you are living through ego or through yourself. we go through hardship after hardship and ego tells us "i'll take care of you." the shadow self is the corridor to face and destroy your ego.

  • let me re-word, evil is ego, not dark side. there is a difference.

  • Um, quite the contrary. Ego is far from "evil". You cannot live without Ego, for Ego is self (little s).

  • i agree with you. however, i see things under a different light. I try to see things on a more collective scale rather than for just myself realizing my actions and thoughts have an impact on others. the ignorance of the ego is perhaps what is evil not the ego itself. Ego unchecked can be quite cruel, inefficient, and unneeded in a collective. so i say evil. just a matter of point of view.

  • Okay well when you speak about Ego, it's generally not studied/discussed in a collective sense, namely because well, Ego isn't collective. Also, there are two forms of Ego - ego (small e, which is superficial, ie. I am awesome) and Ego (big e), which is self (small s), meaning I am/awareness of Self (big s).

  • That is very true, thanks for the insight. I learn on my own and by others. Thanks to the internet you learn something new every day! I hope though that it is discussed more in a collective sense. If so the power of our collective would eventually automatically keep the ego in check. It does already, just not to the point it could. Maybe that threatens some of us, but not me, I realize it is better for everyone else that my ego is in check.

  • I disagree. You're in control of and, aware of - your own ego. Other people will simply react to your ego, so if that's what you mean by collective then sure, I can see how that helps. Remember though, that it is still up to the individual as to how they lead their own life =)

  • so you mean to say that your sense of self cant be altered by other peoples perception of you? (not that it should, but it does) or that enviornment cant dictate what you deem valuable? if you cannot acquire what is needed and has value, your self worth drops. so yes you are in control of how you handle these situations, but you cannot help when these situations arrive, and they WILL impact you one way or the other.

  • yin/yang philosophy has not to do with the concept of 'evil' you tards.

Try Jungs conception of the shadow self.

    You'll both still be retarded.

  • i know Jung well....you didn't read my post very well. ....

  • I have come to see poonard as clueful and you as clueless Revo.

The yin in Toaism represents the passive or receptive principle.

The shadow self is those parts or our self which we repress and don't give a chance to heal.

Everybody's capable of anything, but through not hiding we are whole.

Evil is not the concern of Taoism. Yin/yang is the first duality which creates everything below.

Good and bad are relative. You've have to see the God Abraxis for that.

  • Try making less sense. What do you think the black represents in the yin/yang? Chocolate?

  • I have come to see poonard as clueful and you as clueless Revo.

The yin in Toaism represents the passive or receptive principle.

The shadow self is those parts or our self which we repress and don't give a chance to heal.

  • After all this arguing. It's just a symbol. It can do you no harm if you know what it means. You don't have to embrace the philosophy at all once you decide for yourself if it seems right or not. Just know there is dualism in all religions this is just another form of it.

  • Do tell me what Saddam taking over some country has to do with America.

We are not the Global Police(TM).

  • Bill addressed the gulf war and the ww, he mentionned it as being planned i.e. USA sold the weapons to those countries.

He was portaying USA as Jack Palance saying PICK UP THE GUN to the smaller countries :) And yes feeding, teaching and helping the poors from all over the world might diffuse a lot of issues and prevent some wars but its ture, not all of them...

  • its that weird fucked up cult belief that if you do good you must do evil.

  • can someone give me this poem? Don't understand everything, and i want to write a song based on this.. can someone help me out? just think it would be a nice idea, in the vain of bill, d'you know what i mean?

  • just listen and write it.

  • I'll try to get it all down;)

  • The time has come to air the voice of reason. In a world gone mad, adrift on banal seas. For all who feel that lies have had their season, and whose hearts cry out instead for honesty. For all the weary souls grown bored with dreaming; whose thirst for beauty and for knowledge goes unslaked. - Bill Hicks

    Part 1

  • For all who want to wake from what is dreaming, to know what's real, and what's real to embrace. For all who've watched with mounting horror, evil's reign upon this world grow ever clear. For all who've prayed in vain emancipators, wielding swords of truth, and laughing without fear. - Bill Hicks

    Part 2

  • I was thinking the last line might go better punctuated like this, according to his pauses:

"For all who've prayed, in vain, emancipators; wielding swords of truth, and laughing without fear."

  • a beautiful man....

  • Shakespeare & Kipling would be impressed !

  • I was just thinking the same thing :)

  • the end bit was a bit naa.. as Hicks said, perhaps it might have been better to have said we who can nudge them into beauty of just being fucking honest for once in their lives, knowing that it is ok to do so

. it might even be the name of god to say the truth and admit you don't know.

and stfu about accepting Jeezush, we know already, maybe he should go recruit Mohamed instead, they could solve all the problems in the world in a sacred act of bum sex or something.

  • It's spooky how Bill's words are so relevant in these days. He got off the ride and he is probably laughing at us right now saying, "I told you guys!!!"

Or he could be reincarnated. He'd be about 16 and probably tripping balls on shrooms and DMT. He's still awesome to watch.

  • Bill Hicks was always rigth.

  • hows about we stop complaining and do what we want.

  • Why do awesome guys like Bill die when Dane Cook is slated to live a long and healthy life?

  • 1) Dane Cook doesn't "think too much".

    2) Dane Cook never did hard drugs.

    3) Dane Cook is not an artist.

Though it pains me to say that many people would disagree with that. :(

  • BRILLIANT!

  • Dane blows

  • 4) Dane Cook was never technically alive in the first place.

  • @bryneyk lawl

  • Beethoven was the first really revolutionary musician. without him...it would be ALL smooth jazz *shudders. much like Beethoven, Bill Hicks was one of god's great gifts to OUR planet.

  • I agree about the Bill Hicks part, but not the Beethoven lol.

  • I heard the full show of "Counts Of The Netherworld" with Bill was aired just on British TV.

I still can't find it on the web.

It's too precious to be lost.

  • the man was the greatest artistic genius since Beethoven

  • true, but i'll take Hicks over Beethoven

  • They share the same birthday.

  • can someone say reincarnation?

  • ever heard of george carlin?

  • Banal means boring or unoriginal, and i think slake is just an old timey way to say 'quenched', as in thirst. Does anyone know if Bill Hicks wrote this? It is totally different than any of his other stuff i've seen, but equally brilliant. We are all one!

  • "He wrote it, it's in his book, "Love All The People"."

(Copied from a comment further down.)

  • *love*

  • Conquer the liar with truth

  • Bill Hicks is no longer a man

    He is a verb

  • @droppedyursoap Okay discordian.

  • Did Bill write that or is it something from something else that I should be reading right now?

  • He wrote it, it's in his book, "Love All The People".

  • Wow, Its lovely isn't it?

  • this man is correct. humanity must be eradicated.

  • Bill Hicks you will never be forgotten!!!

  • Google: Sam's Club 6625+FBI that includes information on corrupt US politicians

  • I agree.. THE WAY OF LIFE>> Live on my friend

  • Bill Hicks: The Man, The Legend, The Way of Life... R.I.P.

  • Very cool.

  • for all who watched with mounting horror

evils reign upon this world grow ever clear.

for all who have prayed in vain

for ? wielding swords of truth and laughing without fear

  • I'm a little stoned, so help me out here:

the time has come to air the voice of reason.

in a world gone made, adrift on banal ?

for all who feel that lies have had their season,

and whose hearts cry out instead for honesty.

For all the weary souls grown bored with dreaming

this thirst for beauty and for knowledge goes ?

for all who want to wake from what is dreaming

to know what is real and what is real to embrace

  • adrift on banal seas

    knowledge goes unslaked.

  • banal, it means tired.. and unslaked i believe is your next question mark.. slake is a word meaning tired.. or a lack of intrest, vigour etc, hope it helps

  • actually banal means lacking originality, freshness, or novelty. Like for example....the jonas brothers

  • That was just beautiful. As is anything that Bill did. And you're right about the Jonas Brothers...bile.

  • lol, the mullet :)

  • bill is gone and jeff durham is still walking...

    so sad

  • No shit.

"I'm not funny or thought provoking but here's a puppet!"

    That's him.

  • pancriet cancer!! I cant spell! Read Bill hicks Bvolution, best book i'e read! he knew he was going to die from that threw a vision that he had!

  • pancreatic?

  • I'm glad you liked the book. He was a pretty amazing dude for sure.

    I've., through

  • a good man who was burdened with the worlds horror towards it's people. may he now rest in peace.

  • Hey does anyone know the song thats played at the beginning and end of this? I think it's beautiful and would like to hear the whole thing.

  • I believe it's from Rant in E-Minor, you can hear part of it in "Quiet Loner" and I believe somewhere else on it (I forget at the moment), and the music at the end of the clip is from the end of "You're Wrong Night". Glad to see you like it too.

  • its on the rant in e minor album I think its actually a bill hicks song

  • Yea he did all the guitar work on that album

  • yeah, since posting that comment ive already found that out! but thanks anyway dude

  • Bill Hicks was such a gifted, talented and intelligent person. May he rest in peace...

  • Legend.

  • is this from an album?

  • It was a show that got picked up in the UK- but was never to be.

  • how fucking sad.

  • how did he die?

  • pancrease cancer...probably from smoking

  • Don't think you get pancreatic cancer from smoking.

  • smmoking increase chances by 75%
