On it's own, the music isn't scary at all. Hell the little "BWEEOO" makes it seem almost goofy.

Then you put it in the context of the movie, knowing that it plays along with the real death of defenseless animals, and suddenly it becomes one of the most sinister pieces of music ever.

Yes, it is. Was this track called "Adulters' Punishment" or just "Cannibal Holocaust (Closing Theme)? This music sounds like APOCALYSE NOW, and it sounds very serious to me. I love Ortolani's music, but I have not seen CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST. That tune is also has some sad parts to with the violens.
