@energiaproductions actually, there are OSS software that is good enough. If Spiderman used Blender, than it's good enough. And now it 's even better. :)
But if you are used with one program, it's prob. easier to use that one than to spend time learning something new.
@DMadAce They probably always used it. When they shot their last film, Lightwave was still somewhat popular, especially for productions with a limited budget. Effects for TV shows like Babylon 5 or Seaquest were also done in Lightwave back in the day (Google for "Videotoaster" :-))

@AlecCorday if you think this is what it will look in the movie, you are wrong. that hasnt been rendered, it doesnt have the textures, no lights etc. that is just a sketch preview. and these are the guys that made star wreck.
Premiere is so underrated, it's freaking awesome once you master it. Throw in After Effects and Photoshop and you're set.

Google novacut kickstarter and check out their kickstarter page.
It's under development right now, but it's the most relevant project out there for your circumstances.
