That Miata's driver is pretty damn good. the miata is very unreliable in the rain compared to your AWD . the fact that he was drifting on the ramps means he has a pair or he doesn't care about losing them.

The miata is a Sports car. like its been said it does lack power , but on the curves few cars match it. that being said .. the miata's engine takes getting boosted really well . so for miata + 4 k you can have a car as fast as a mustang , and that can take a curve better.

Spec Miata is the largest class in NASA/SCCA. Hard to achieve that status with a car that isnt anything special. They are fast as hell with the only allowed mods being an intake, catback, mild suspension, and safety mods.

Rain handling is accomplished by geting good tires. Learning to drift in the rain is great because its easier on the car. I actually use a set of cheap loose in the rain tires so that I can play around in the rain. My set of T1R's are very hard to drift even in the rain,.
