The owner of the boat has no guarantee that Joey Greco and his crew are not going to damage or steal equipment on board that is essential to his LIFE. Defending your boat against unauthorized boarding is DIRECTLY analogous to defense of life, limb or eyesight. Anyone who doesn't see that has no business ever going out onto the water.

You step on another mans boat without permission he has the RIGHT to use leathal force, if necessary, to remove you from it.
