Stop wasting your money on useless risky treatments. Unless white people really see this as a disease that worths doing research for, (which is very unlikely to a happen considering the number of keloid patients who are white), we keloid sufferers will forever be cursed.
Being a victim of the keloid curse myself for many years..I can confidently tell you that none procedures nowadays really work to permanently remove keloids. Forget about the painful injection and incision and laser treatment. None of those treatments seem to be able to effectively control the reoccurence of the keloid scars on my chests and back. I was treated by the best plastic surgeon in Cali in 2002 and his surgical and laser treatment did not stop the keloids from coming back.
hi dr lam im in dallas texas and i have small keloids on both earlobs.i am african american and i beleive my earlobs are scared as well because i wear clip ons to cover the embarassing scars.
what do you recommend i do to have them removed
and do you guys accept private insurance .please help
sorry, i don't accept private insurance. if you need to do this with insurance, you should probably find someone that can take it. whatever you do, don't just remove them. you must plan for aggressive, repeat injections afterward or radiation otherwise your keloids will mushroom into massive basketballs. aftercare is even more important that excision.
Hi Dr. Lam I am scheduled to get a keloid removed along my jaw line. I also have scheduled (3) sessions of radiation therapy to prevent reoccurance, beginning 3 hours after the removal. Are there any side effects associated with the radiation treatment?
absolutely great idea. i think i have a video out there somewhere talking about it but i was actually planning to shoot another more detailed one. i was removing a keloid last week and was thinking the public really does not know the difference between a hypertrophic scar and a keloid so look out for my video coming in the next week or two i hope.
Hi Dr Lam I am a walking example of keloids I have them on my ear, back, legs, on my outside private part that I shaved and hair bumps turn to at least seven large, painful keloids. I need help. I will even be a test dummy if you would help. My self esteem is nonexistent. I had the one on my ear removed at least 5 times and it always return now my body is gone beserk. HELP!!!!!!!!
well, i try to stay within the realm of facial keloids, i.e., face, ears, neck. if you live in dallas, i can meet with you. if you live outside of dallas, it would be best to find someone to help you locally since you might need radiation to manage the condition. unfortunately, i don't need any "test dummies" as you put it.
