This is pure BS because Im downloading these train vids from an idea from the head nurse at the hospital/nursing home where moms been for over a year!.... (1)

Being that she is so bad off, they are surprised that she lasted this long and instead of getting better, she just keeps getting worst. So these classic train vids are for her. Now I will go and make pretend were traveling across the Rockies in some antique train.... (3)

She DID travel back from St. Louis on Amtrak 2 years ago for whatever thats worth.

Great video! Loved hearing the little voice telling you the locomotive is a new one. I've had some wonderful moments with both my son and daughter trackside. Keep up the good work and enjoy your family; the little ones grow so fast!
I've seen Q199 come off the Charlotte Sub and into Monore but not Q194 yet. I do know that when Q199 comes off the Charlotte Sub it stops, switches its locomotives to the other end of the train, and heads down the Monroe Sub to the Abbeville Sub that leads to Atlanta. I'm guessing Q194 does the opposite. ( You can see Q199 in my videos)
ok, there is a correction on the intermodal train, you said there were 80 cars, you were counting each individual car, but just to let you know, if you see 2 individual cars connected not by a coupler but a bogey wheel, if u see 3-5 cars like that, that's actually 1 full car, just to put that out there, so there's really probably like 30-35 cars on that train, so i'm not trying to be an ass hole, lol, but some guy at the Horseshoe Curve told me that

It's a great siding. CSX uses it a lot, maybe 'cause the next available siding to the south/west is at Auburn/Carl, and that's a pretty good distance south.
thanks evryone--this really was a lucky find (which i will take after all the perfect prepared shots i have stunk up). i think that is my favorite spot on the entire abbeville sub. look for more from me here in the future.

@meccaturbo it is the original SAL mainline from hamlet, nc to birmingham, al therough atlanta.

the car makers produce 3-car and 5-car sets, although i am sure there are some variations out ther.

Near the end of the video, are those "search light" signals or are they the new "darth vader" hooded type signals?

thanks! these signals (south end of harper) are the old color signals, not darth vaders; although vaders are starting to show up in some places.
