When I was in San Antonio there was a local hit 'Back To You' by the Royal Jesters. I have the record but can't find it on You Tube. Not sure it was a Chcano band or not? Anyone out there now anything?
This video was made last Sept. 26, 2009 at Nick's Taste of Texas in Covina, Ca. This was a Ruben Molina event called "The Legends of Chicano Soul". Ruben invited legendary East L.A.'s and Texas' musicians and bands for 3 shows, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The Bomb cars were from a local car club that volunteered to drive all the performers to this show.
I like this guys music but are they still playing music . this kinda of music I believe brings the people together Ill continue to play it on my sounds even thou some of my kids shrug it off . (So long Teddy Pendergrass } but I can tell they do like it.
Que puez nuez!! great presentation of tejano roots and legends, I really like it, reminds me the classic chicano movie, James edward olmos' ZOOT SUIT, good job dude..
No matter What They said about us we proved We can do anything,This Music is The Best,The Chicanos doing it With heart,We no longer have to Change Our names just to get our names On a Label & on Wax,Que viva La Raza Chingona. Thanks for this Music. To all the Producers & Artist That Made it possable for us to Enjoy our Own People Singing & Playing There Instruments, & all thee LEGENDS that struggled Just to make it Happen, Sunny Osuna, Little Joe & Johnny, Ralfi Pagan, Joe Bataan.Nick Villareal.
Go head on catcheton! Puro San Anto...I remember those days at the La Villita dances. Sunny and the Sunglows (later Sunliners), The Royal Jesters, Little Henry and the Laveers, Sonny Ace and The Twisters, and so many other groups from the hoods. They'll never be anymore sounds like these. Thanks and keep the music alive vato. Nice job Califas!
