Hi, I get Error 401.3- Unauthorized. You do not have permission to view this directory or page b/c of the access control list (ACL) config or encryption settings for this resource on the Web server. What should I do?
@73HNiNJ4 If by externally you mean being able to access your site from another computer on the internet, please go ahead and watch my videos on allowing access to your web-site/server part 1 & part 2. The best way to make this happen is to have a static ip address issuesd by your ISP (not a local static ip address), if not the video will show you how to do it without a static ip also
Hey i hope you still answer questions on this video. I have done all this and it seems so easy, but every time I try to access my localhost through my browser I get an error that says it can't access the related configuration files due to insufficient permissions. I am the only user on this computer, and have checked that I have all admin rights. I don't know what the problem might be :(
@ShufflofigusCam Hey there, I have uploaded a video to show you the simplest way of solving this problem. Follow the instuctions in the description of the vid if you want to only change permissions for a certain part of your "wwwroot" folder in your "inetpub" folder
awe dude i need help !!i can connect to my sever locally with ip (10.0.0.3) on the home network with other computers, but i cannot open the server with my ip my isp gave me i also tried hidemya**.com still it dose not work my port 80 is also open i checked . i need help do you kwn where i went wrong pls help . good vid tho
The easiest way to use a domain name from a home server is to access your domains properties and add your static ip address (the one issued by your ISP, not your local address) and add an A record to your domain pointing to your ip address. Yu will need to configure your modem/router to allow access to port 80 (and 443 is usinf an SSL connection), and also allow access to port 80 through your firewall.
i am having a problem connecting to my website. I have a domain that I bought through godaddy that I am trying to use. I am also running server 2008, When ever i type in local host I get a 404 error. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I did everything the same expect under "binding" when you are creating the site I put my domain name in.
Hay I love the videos you do... However, this one I felt the audeo level was really low... But keep up the good work!

@73HNiNJ4 Try to add a firewall rule that allow all port 80 connections.

@Snoop5856 Have you allowed your modem and router to forward port 80?
