you know, this looks mechanically simple. i think i am going to make this and do a how-to video on how to make one of these. although i may make it .177 cap and ball instead of pinfire, the ammo will be cheaper than dirt. BBs and toy caps, does not get any cheaper than that without being pneumatic.

I looked this company and the weapon up.Peter Dyson does indeed still produce this gun,BUT it is a copy of the original,Peter Dyson being a very ancient name/company would have produced the pistol seen here in about 1880-1910,the ring pistol for sale now is a copy made by the company still bearing his name,the new pirol fires rimfire cartridges.Peter Dyson Co. is selling off all of the antique stock of parts they have,some truly ancient parts for sale!!

Pinfire ammo is obsolete,has been since about 1920-30,maybe a little later.That pistol would be turn of the 19th centruy,of victorian age.Certainly not modern!!It woulnt take much to make a modern copy in .22LR or .22Short if you can still get them.The ring pistol has to have the chamber revolved manualy to line up the next round to fire.

Very informative, but the obsolescence of pinfire ammo isn't an issue.

I don't think anything chambered in .177(?) cal was EVER effective: it was as much a novelty then as it is today and thus, sold as such.

Peter Dyson is still selling these guns and ammo is still being made for it.
