@mexfut13 congrats dude! Im 16 and aspiring on entering to MIT, though the math subject test score required looks grim, anyway, congrats on entering, enjoy your stay.
Does anyone here know what the requirements are for M.I.T, (I read all the SAT comments so I get that). I mean what I have to take. Right now I am in seventh grade, teaching myself physics 1; PreCalculus; Calculus 1; Trigonometry; Chemistry 1. Anything you guys say is helpful, thanks!
@victopshot17 It is good to have such a goal. If you know what you want, you are half way toward attaining it. Am sure it is within your reach. Good luck.
in my middle school our principle always tells us that we are not being prepared for high school but for college and they put us instead of 7-1 7-2 7-1 we are in colleges and mine is MIT well i think its for all brownsville independent school district but i hope i get into MIT our principle says its the highest
@dunsacc From the MIT web site: Standardized tests are not the only factor, or even the most important factor.
We review all of your academic information - grades, scores, classes, etc - to ensure that you are prepared for MIT. In part because of the strength of our applicant pool, the majority of our applicants are very well prepared to succeed at MIT.
@wworldp but there must be some sort of benchmark... surely they wont accept students with less than 2000 points or something... anyways thanks for the other info, was really helpful.
@dunsacc Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance. I am not affiliated with MIT. I can understand your concern all the more since they are very competitive. On the other hand, they may not want to have a stated cut off. Good luck....MIT is a wonderful environment and has a super reputation.
@dunsacc On the college board, they have rough;ly calculated average ranges.
For MIT, a good number of students usually range between a 720-780 on the Reading, a 740 to a perfect 800 on the math, and a 720 to 780 on the writing.
So the "least," you could say that they accept is 2180 and 2340 might usually be the highest. However, admission is not based solely on SAT scores, but you can tell that theyre looking for students who can handle a rigorous system of academics
@KatiushaVN4 Do u base this listing on certain levels met in the each individual fields of study or of technology, applied physics, mechanics, etc. which MIT is highly renowed for?
@KatiushaVN4 best in the world for engineering and technology...in that field harvard is 22nd, cambridge is 2nd, princeton is 7th caltech is 5th and oxford is 6th
