i'm sure you have already said but I was wondering what times you run and who built the engine. I want one just like it only mine only has to take a 200 shot
i just put in a th400 and a electronic vss and 4.11 this winter there gonig to have fun programming mine ( the th400 was mechanical and had to switch it to electonic so the vss does not match my stock program vss and that is what give you your speed
yes tpis in chaska mn i live 30 min from them and yes there shop setup is nice it's all in the house everything is done there. not shiped out to machine shops, ect
If that engine holds up to a 400 shot of nitrous, I'll be very impressed. That is what did in my LT-1 but was only a 150 shot and it cooked the engine. Today I turned that engine into a TPiS 383 that makes 505 to the rear wheels. that is plenty fast for me as I don't plan on going to the track with my Vette. That is why no more juice for me, but good luck with yours I really do hope that it all works out and stays in one piece.
thats 6 grand in internals not scat or stock you can push a 150 on a stock motor and it's made for a 400 shot, piston rings down to cam. tpis built up my motor
They did my motor as well all $15 grand of it, but it is money well spent. Mine was mainly a stock motor when the nitrous kept feeding due to a sticky window switch. If you have never been to TPiS shops, then watch my video of my 94 Vette with it's new wheels and tires, it was shot out side of their shops out on the farm.Just in case you have never seen it before, I only live 7 miles from TPiS, until I move cross country at the end of the month.
so it was a stock motor on the nitrous? is the 15 grand motor in it right now and do you like it? what type of heads and internals what did you do for the fuel rail and are you the one with the tpis mini ram and what compression and what year timing set do you have on it and what are you running now for motor nitrous, boost
Yea except for about 2 grand in bolt ons. Nothing was ever done to beef up the engine as we figured it was a low mile never raced engine. It was operated by a window switch which between 2200 RPMS and 5200 RPMS only while accelerating it would turn the nitrous on if the other switches were on and bottle opened. One day last summer near Belle Plaine the window switch kept feeding a whole 10lb. bottle of nitrous even when stopped and blew the crap out the engine. That led to Clay & Jim at TPiS.
ya clay built it and jim programed mine i'm running 210 afr at 11.1 compression what is yours and how wide are your tire in that video and are you running any nitrous or boost on the new one or is it naturally asperated
The tires in the video are the exact same size as the Grand Sport in 96 or the 90-95 ZR-1 they are 315's in the rear. Right now the motor is all naturally asperaited. It still has some of its original bolt ons like the SLP cold air induction. I want to say the TB is 58mm or the next one up and the injectors are 42lbs./hr running off of two fuel pumps. They built it and installed it as well as tuned it in the car. Now other than some minor retuning it is there for mostly cosmetic stuff now.
we have preety much the same engine they maid money i have a 58 mm throttle body, 42 lbs injectors and alot of custom work for the fuel rail we had to cut the fuel rail apart and have tpis weld fitting on fitting i have two seprate fuel rails right now left and right ( the fuel pump is big for the nitrous and we had way to much presure) and i got 335 in the rear and we are tubbing it out this next fall im running 4.11 and a slp front hood scoop.
Looking good, good luck with it this year. My 94 is down at TPiS having its final tune and cosmetics done before I say goodbye after 20 years to Minnesota and move back to my home state of Massachusetts where they still have the sniff test that my vette must be able to pass in order to register it in that state. So that is the main project for Clay and Jim right now. I posted some videos of the cosmetics, it was all shot at TPiS in Chaska.
i have two window switches with a wot for the relay positive and the window switch for the relay ground and my switches in the car are positive going to the window if anything happen like yours i can shut mine down manually ..... did you have a msd window switches
Yes I has a MSD digital switch and had a on off switch on the dash for the nitrous. Somehow the circuts got crossed and when I thought I was shutting off the nitrous it was really staying on. My window switch was mounted under the hood so while driving you could not see that it was sticking in the on position. I've got a brand new LT-1 Nitrous Direct kit for the LT-1 that $499.00 new and I used it maybe 10 times, I'd like to get $200 or best offer for it, let me know if know of anyone looking.
See I did'nt do any cages or anything as I am the structual limit for a C4 Vette which is roughly 550 rwhp before you need to start beefing up the body and things to handle it and I'm only at 505 rwhp so I have some room left. Bet you can't wait for the last of this snow to be gone so you can drive your car again.
are you running a t56 so you have 505 to the rear wheels what compression are you running i got 550 on crank befor spray if we got the same motor how is your pushing 550 to the wheels when i got 550 on the crank. is that on race fuel mine is on 92 octane ?
I'm not pushing 550 to the wheels I'm pushing 505 as was documented by a diferent style of dyno up in Blanie. You know the kind you drive on to which they say is more accurate than the kind at TPiS which tends to give a slightly lower number I was told. I'll ask Clay about compression numbers when I see him next week. Mine runs on 101 octane plus and if you don't want to drive to Wayzata to get racing fuel 2 jugs of 108 octane boost does the trick. Only other thing Mine is in a Vette.
What kind of connecting rods are in it??

That also looks like the dyno room at TPiS, if it was then you were there and already know the shop setup.
