LED Off Delay Circuit with dimming effect

i am seeking a way to dime an led (adjustable) this is for modeling, install the led and adjust until the led is 'just right' these will be smd and small leds

i am not electronics savvy any pointers would be great

@itolond just use a higher resister for the led the higher it is the more current is being taken up just keep using different (high) resisters until you want the dimmest you need thats what i will do its much easier

@thorpjoern sure, you can use only one 555 timer

@thorpjoern you need to make another circuit, which is not difficult. go to my page (pcbheaven[dot]com) and then go into the "theory" section. Find the "basic monostable circuit" and make it. You may also want to read some theory of the 555. go again to the theory section and read the "555 theory".
