Completly dissapointed with peter, when he left the newsboys he stated "I’m looking forward to focusing on the band’s studio career and spending time in my own bed after many years in a tour bus and hundreds of thousands of miles on the road." Yea, so much for that, now hes going solo, in my opinion hes worse than toby mac breaking up dc talk, at least he was honost about it.

@darcw0lf You seem to have an unrealistic expectation that because Newsboys are a Christian band, there should be no reason or cause for wanting to move in another direction, and thus Peter had no business leaving the band. Did you ever consider that the decision to move on was most likely prayerfully considered, and that he may in fact be following God's will? Even if that's not the case I consider it unwise to place someone on such a high pedestal that you won't allow them to be human.

That must of been very hard for Peter to do, but then the Lord had other plans for him and he needed to do it. God Bless you Peter in whatever way your life goes from here on. The Lord will be guiding you and Summer and All things will be Great. My only regret is that I never got the chance to see him in Concert or to meet him.

@hbugirl Its official peter furler IS going solo, he conformed it himself. I'll be getting his cds too, lol, ooops darn typos. He also said that he's going to have meet n' greets but i dunno if you have to join a club or not yet.

In a few years and CD's with Michael Tate as lead singer, I'd like to see a NewsBoys tour with Tate doing his songs with NewsBoys and Peter Furler doing his songs with the NewsBoys. Think about it. :-D

yeah Furler has just stepped down from on stage performing and has chosen to go back to what he used to do for the Newsboys and continue as their producer and song writer

this is his final performance in NYC...yes, he still wries songs for the band, but as for performing with the "lead vocal" label...he is done.

@russelltbrooks Here try this.... Peter Furlur is still writing songs, still producing albums, still praising God with his wonderful gift of his voice. However, Peter Furlur is no longer with the Newsboys as originally planned, and currently isn't touring as to spend some time with his family. Almost all bands feel this way such as described in Hawk Nelson's song 36 days.
