My reasons for leaving werent "Its my life i can do what I want" It was watchig my father make my mom do verything in our home including work up his talks for him... My mother had affairs and never got DF and then I had my first "encounter with my BF" and terrible memories surfaced..." But I aggree with you dont judge someone based on others in that "grp"
I really dunno what to say anymore.. Its crazy... But what I do know is if people leave they should do it because they dont belive not because of rebellion or otherwise. Tho in some cases the whole thing happens by rebellion... Like me. I questioned the Church when I was 13.. A Drama about University education.. And eventualy I just decided to experiment, and then the exerimentation led to other things Buried memories and I did Rebell
Sounds right to me. I was called an "apostate", "Judas", and "arrogant" among other colorful titles. My offense? Questioning the Society on ONE of their other double-standards.
It is a religion that is quick to label its detractors and even quicker to defend its generally-loopy positions, whatever they may be at the time. Abrupt change is the only constant in its theology.
I love your vids, man! They always take me back...
JW's don't like to be called cultists more than "apostates" (whom I assume is who you are referring to in the vid) like to have their personal experiences be typecast as self justifying atrocity stories by sociologists, and JWs, like we discussed. So, I think there is something of a double standard....on both sides.
You're hitting on the same point that I'm talking about here, if you don't want to be generalized then don't go around doing it. I don't know if the contempt for the "speak american" came through, I hate that ridiculousness. The mash-up at the end is one that I did personally when that Gold digga song was all the rage. One of my many mash-ups from the scene LOL.
Unfortunately, even in my beloved great state of Texas, we've got some some of that still going on here. There's still some places here that prefer a white JW to a Hispanic non JW. One prejudice outweighs the other. :(
You've done a video on JW and cults. You should do a follow questioning the credibility of apostates.. It would be interesting to see what reaction you would get from that side.
LOL, you haven't heard my "feud" with Kyria Abrahams over her book? I left because of theological reasons I'm not the most popular person for the rebellious teens. It's on one of her making fun of JWs with a character videos, I think Blanche.
Have you read her book? There's not a single thing that happened to her that was the religion's fault AT ALL. Her parents AND her elders all sat down with her to discuss making the decision, whether she was making it for the right reasons or not. But she didn't listen to them and did what she wanted to get what she wanted. Now she wants to be the victim and the voice for the ex-JWs or the funny voice or whatever. Ugn, the book is ridiculous. I didn't even give it away I threw it away.
Hey Tim you've gone gangsta on me. Let me just throw in a few observations for you and viewers.
I think you have to define "ex-witnesses". Inactive ones or those who drift away are not viewed as such. see KM 2/07, and I would venture to say they are the vast majority would be ones included in surveys.
I wonder what God's retetention rate is, being that Satan and countless angels left Him, so I'm not sure what you're implying there.
But I agree. No one likes to be stereotyped. cont.
great video as always

Yeah, the contempt came thru all right.

Just looked at it.
Indeed. That's classic apostate syndrome.

No, I havent read it, but the video ,your comments and her responses to them are revealing.
And, like you said, feeding into a stereotype. Again, just my two pennies worth.
laterz, playa.
