It's crazy hes only 56! Like, woah. People are capable of much more then what is normally accepted, screw the norm! I think PEAK8 represents that kind of thinking, holistic and all for the most we can do in the least amount of time, this... this is a lot like our future!
I started going to the gym 6 days a week about six month ago, doing old fashioned cardio for 40 to 45 minutes every time. I lost a few pounds the first 3 months, but the following 2 months, I was only losing 0.5 to 1.0 pound per week. I saw this video and I decided to try it. I started doing the peak 8 3-times a week about a month ago. The other 3 days I would do resistance training. Amazing. It's like a switch got turned on. I lost 10 pounds this month. Thanks Dr. Mercola
I've been doing 45-50 minutes cardio 5 times a week for several years and have noticed that it's become ineffective in helping me lose the extra weight that I have gained in the last couple of years. I just tried this workout today and feel wonderful. My question is can I do this type of training as often a sI was doing the aerobic workout, 5 or 6 times per week? Or is twice a week the upper limit?
Hello again Dr. Mercola, I know you've said that Peak 8 exercises should be the only thing done on that particular exercise day.
Just wondering if a brief core workout before a Peak 8 would be detrimental or counterproductive? Either same session or different part of the day?
The only reason I ask is because sometimes I have a little trouble fitting all the strength training, core, flexibility, and aerobics into the other 5 or 6 days , when 2 days out of 7 or 8 is just peak 8. Thanks
@TSMPimpDaddyPain If you have energy and are not fatigued then it is probably OK. Just need to be careful about recovery which is every bit as important as workout
ok so final report a month ago I was struggling to loose last few kg's. I am now down to 75kg, and 14% body fat . Thanks Dr mercola, I posted a link to my photos on your facebook wall
I went raw vegan (already was vegan) about four months ago. I do not have access to anything but a treadmill and a total gym. Can I do this? I'm very heavy right now even though I've lost some weight. I'm a 33 year old female, 4 ft 10 and weigh 268. Thanks Dr. Mercola!
ok so after 2 and bit months of doings these, I am now down to 80kg's I was 92kg 2 months ago calves are totally ripped legs as well, still about 4kg to go to be fit. My cardio is off the charts now, I can just keep pushing myself. and every 2nd week I stop sprint 8's to focus on longer distance. If I just do sprints I loose endurance, so I switch it up to keep both. I dont even have to lift weights on legs, I am ripped
after a week off, just 2 switch it up I was doing 45 min cardio last week every day, I have gone back 2 sprint 8, this was my 2nd session for da week I got up to 180BPM WOOHOO 9 to go 2 be classified as fit for my age, I am working so hard on this I now have 7/8 on my resistance, I now long for dat hardcore failing last 10 seconds of the sprint, you should barely be able 2 move, I pushed soo hard today I was beetroot red in face and lost 3.5 kg in water in 30 minutes in 31 degree C heat WOOOOOO
I was told to do this by a friend of mine who is a nutritionist he said I can do it. I am 19 wiegh 300 pounds I am really out of shape can I do this or will I hurt myself
I'm 24 In good shape and a sprinter. But So far I have failed to get the same numbers on the machine as you have. I've only just started with peak 8. But I was wondering, is there a specific output that I can relate or compare to you'res, for example: WATTS / METS / RESISTANCE. I have 765 as your top WATT count in this demonstration. I do not have a "vision bike", only the basic recumbent bike. Is there a universal stat for all ages/bikes that I can use to compare my efforts to you'res?
@saiyaniam Skip the recumbent bike. I have now switched to the elliptical. I start with resistance level of 13 out of 25 and then progress to 14 for the #5-7 and then up to 15 for the las one and seek to attain a speed of 3:45 pace for 30 seconds. Once the sprint is over reduce resistance to 7 for 90 seconds. You might be able to go faster or use more resistance because you are 32 years younger than I am and close to the peak shape of your life.
5th week, weight still the same, but I am getting a lot fitter and can fit into a medium sized shirt now . My heart is staying around 175 ish now, where as I peaked at this in my previous weeks, I never got my entire 8 at 170 +, this week I have been able to do that, I also tried doing a 4th day of this, But forget it you are delusional like Dr Mercola said, your muscles are so warn out after these its impossible , even with 24hrs rest
5th week weight has stabilized, I was actually getting frustrated my weight didn't change, but what i didn't realize is my calves thighs and hamis are ripped, my face is thinner, and I am gaining muscle, so the scale is irrelevant, If you improve your heart output, and are looking good regardless of your weight then don't worry about it, the weight loss will come
max heart rate is 174 atm I need to go to 7/8 on my resistance to work harder my max should be 192 according to my age
@seinfeld11123 That is because your body fat % was decreasing to a healthier level. Total weight is almost irrelevant. Was matters most is body fat %.
@mercola The "men in white" say 20% fat is healthy, what are your thoughts on the body fat percentage myth, Before my back problem I weighed 74kg with a little muscle 12% body fat, but I thought I looked a little alien almost pointy chin etc, what is your bf %? and what is your healthy range you would recommend ?
@seinfeld11123 Look up body fat in Wikipedia and use their athletic ranges as healthy goals. Far lower than 20%. For men should be HALF that. My last measurement in late December done by calipers was 9%.
This is the greatest workout I have ever done. You feel such a sense of well being for the next 24 hours after this....well once you can breathe again...lol.
I cannot say enough about these its now almost 4 weeks I have been doing this I just jumped on my scale I have lost 5KG THIS WEEK!!!! That is hardcore weight loss I am mixed nutritional type & I consume 130G protein a day 2 meals have carbs & the other 3 have fruits/Vegie/protein I am still eating well
people think u have 2 restrict ur eating. eat healthy & this system will support u rest days R more important then doing an extra session as well
after a few weeks of this, I must admit I get really amped up after 5 sets of this, Im like WHOO, I finish after 8 im buggered, but just really alpha like, I guess its all the HGH testosterone ect being released
day 2 is 3o min low intensity a walk or something easy , plus core workout of 30 mins 5 hours later
day 3 Sprint 8's again
fat is melting at roughly 2kg per 5 days, I am 15kg overweight probably a bit of that is water at the moment
I was almost 40kg overweight 1 year ago (back surgery) but I hit a rut no matter how much low intensity I did I couldn't loose anymore, this has supercharged my workouts, Thanks Dr Mercola
as I stated last week I tried this. I was on level 5 out of 8 on my bike (resistance level) I maxed out 150 on my heart, felt really good.
this week I jumped it to level 6 of 8, and I was getting to the point the last 20 seconds was challenging. last 5 seconds were hell, and I was failing right on 30 seconds, which is perfect heart was 160 I will hold that this week, next week Ill jump to 7 out of 8 resistance. But I am loving this
haha I do interval training myself, but not at this intensity, I just tried it, I maxed out my heart at 150 after recovery 90 secs 120bpm on my 8th im 28, I took it a little easy, I was getting a burn at the end of the sprint
that is 1 fit guy, your breathing can be worked on as I stated before
Great info! I'm pretty sure your aware, but maybe your chest isin't the best place for the mic in this situation. haha still I enjoyed this video very much thanks.

@robran53 If you are doing it properly and MEASURING your heart rate with monitor to 220 minus your age then twice a week is the max
