  • All Remintongs now are junk, I have owned several over the years and the new ones are no match for what they used to be. The 770 is the king of garbage, it even feels like a tonka toy. If you want a good gun on the cheap buy a Savage, XS-7, or Tikka T3 all of which are vastly better then the Remingtons.

  • @lukethibodaux By no means is the 770 the best gun in the world, you compromise with everything, savages accuracy is surpassed by remington, tikka, and winchester. You cant buy a tikka for 300 bucks, nor the XS-7 or Savage model 10. If you going to talk bad about remington what model of rifle have you used? What ammunition did you shoot. Tikka are good guns but it feels like Im holding a 770 to. All preferance. and oppinion.

  • I was shooting a 30-06 and the recoil was not bad. So now I want to shoot a 270. I'm sure I could handle it just fine.

  • @DSOXBLADE No different than an ought six

  • "this is my safety (wiggles finger)" i like this guy

  • I shoot my 243 fine, my 308 great. The second I got the 270, I was like "No me gusta 270". I don't like the loading mechanism and the recoil is ridiculous. That's me, hmmmm.

  • @RyanHiggsMusic Ya the 243, and .308 are not shootin 55 to 65g of powder. The recoil a little heavy for some people. Im 6'3'' and 210LB its take a litlle more than a .270 to knock me around. .308 will get the job done for ya if your hunting.... GOOD LUCK!!! thanks for your comment!

  • 3:49... I like that, people rely on safetys too much

  • Video is reversed (mirror image) look at when he holds up the tube of grease, thus, not left handed.

  • @RanchhandTCR Just Whitetail and I shoot about one or twice a month.

  • @The400exboyz How far are you shooting?? if your gonna take shots beyond 400 yards then its practical for a 7 mag. If your not I would suggest a .270win or 30-06 or even 243 they are versatile from predetors such as coyote to elk, except the 243 I do not recommend for elk. Im only suggestiing. A 7 mag is a litlle over kill in my book. But if your dead set on a 7 mag enjoy my friend!!! and happy hunting...

  • @RanchhandTCR Hey I'm looking to get a 770 in a 7mm. I shoot left handed and noticed your guns were. Did you have to special order them and does that raise the price? Great video.

  • @The400exboyz None of my guns are left handed But generally your safer to order them in left handed. Wal mart will order anygun for you left or right all you have to do is pay the cost of the gun upfront. And any gun store would be glad to order a gun for someone at no extra cost if they want you to pay extra for a special order dont waste your money...

  • @RanchhandTCR Man I swear your gun is a lefty! I've had about a 12 pk but when I see your gun I see it's a lefty. Are you just fkn with people?? lol, nice review. I have a rem 700sps chambered in 30.06. It's accurate as s*** right out of the box and I love it. It'll take down any game i'm hunting.

  • @mtrevizo1000 No its not. I swear to god it aint unless my right is your left, but Im pretty sure I have the same right. I have a remington 700 ADL in 30-06 and I shoot handloads, I have a vidoe up of me shootin a target at 425 yards if you wanna take a look at it.. At 100 yards my handloads I can get all 4 rounds to touch my best group is ,437 inches... Sub MOA

  • @RanchhandTCR haha! I see now it's reversed, thanks Khroe. Keep up the good work Ranchhand.

  • @The400exboyz What do you plan to hunt with a 7 mag??? I like 300 win mags but 7mm fly flatter. You may wanna invest into a muzzle brake if you shoot alot.

  • @SilentProtector90 Isn't learning what it's all about? Knowing more helps you to enjoy the sport and increases safety. When you get on badmouthing people claiming you know combat (video games don't count) & can put rounds on top of each other at range you look foolish. Nobody that is an expert wants to deal with that kind of foolishness so you are making it harder for yourself to gain that much needed knowledge. Just chill, be honest, have fun, make a few friends & learn. Good Day! Ms. Shannon

  • @SilentProtector90 Why are you trolling Ranchhand? He is doing very reasonable reviews. With all due respect, I have watched your vids and it's clear you are new to guns. Nothing wrong with that, we all have to start somewhere but don't get on badmouthing others & representing yourself as an expert. People see through that in 2 secs & you look foolish. Relax, enjoy the sport, learn more & be honest about being new. You might find experienced people are willing to share info & help you learn more

  • @SilentProtector90 Silent protector. With respect I have had to pull a gun on someone, I have been shot at, am I liying no. I have been shot at by informing someone that they are tresspassing and to please leave and they pulled a gun on me because they felt threaten I didnt even have a gun on me!

  • @SilentProtector90 I have proably forgotten more about guns than you will ever know, Do I know every thing hell no. Do I know something yea I do. I call BS on you for saying you can put rounds on top of each other at long range, go to 400-600 yards and prove me wrong. Untill then well talk.

  • @SilentProtector90 Do me a favor do a video of you shooting that remigton 770 at 400 yards and prove to me you can put a round on top of another round. Becuase not even the best shooter can do so past 400 yards. Why because wind begins to affect the round that far the smaller the cartridge the more the wind affrects the round. Its fine to state what you see and hear but you can be alot more polite... Tp be frank I cant put round ontop of round with my 770 even with it on a rest. and handloads.

  • @QuadKillerSteven Impressive vocabulary do you use it often I would assume so judging by your videos and how you present yourself also if you care to insult me please do so by using that poor excuse of a brain that is housed inside your thick skull and coming up with something clever to say. And for the record I don't screw my mother now where you may come from you may find having sexual intercourse with family members is less than strange but whatever makes your pickle squirt junior.

  • @SilentProtector90 Hey stay off my channel I can care less about what you think or what you say. Your the one insutling and being a complete ass. Just because you have impressive english and vocabulary doesnt make you the best fuckin speaker in the world. If you want to talk tough get off your damn lazy boy with your pecker hangin out and go tell the next redneck down the lind to his face what you have said to me. Let me know what happens.

  • @RanchhandTCR You called a Remington 770 a sniper rifle??? Do you have any knowldege of long range shooting and baliistics of a 7.62X63 Cartridge. A remington 770 cant shoot a group no better than half a minute at 100 yards with reloads. You have a SKS, 7.62X39 and a POS Keltec p11. Do you know how many minutes a 168g 30-06 falls at 1000 yards?? do you know how to range with a mil dot? DUDE quite your trolling and shut up and enjoy. Learn instead of showin off.

  • @SilentProtector90 I cant understand why you have to bad mouth people you present things very well. BUT a 770 is NOT a sniper rifle granted a sniper is someone who can consistantly put rounds onto to a single target at great distances. But a 770 is a hunting rifle that what it was made for Remington will not invest money to make it a long range presision gun. It was made for the economy to be affordable to people. Instead of a 600-1000 dolllar remington 700.

  • thanks for the tip on cleaning before firing :) great tip

  • @shootingDOWNstars1 Thank you.

  • Good video. My question to everybody is....Why in the hell do people always have to show everybody else that the gun is unloaded or show, for demonstration purposes, ammo in the magazine? Hopefully the person shooting the video is smart enough to know to unload it or to not fire it when demonstrating. Why do they have to prove it to us, the viewers?! It's not like the round could come through the camera and your monitor and hit you!

  • @dwwilliams72 Good question I do it just to avoid the figgin debate and nonsence comment complaining about having an unloaded gun. But like I said your Finger is the saftey, because a saftey is a mechanical system that can fail. Thanks for your comment and I agree with your point.

  • Der be a varmit let go blew it up! I cant understand you for a minute I thought you said lets go rape that deer right dur. Please go see to it that you use a dictionary and properly learn how to speak English. And while I was watching you "country" review you said it was a .270 30-06 IT DOESNT SHOOT BOTH IDIOT!!!!

  • oh my god, are you useing LEFT handed rifles!? :O

    thumbs upped for ol' lefty!!

  • @omgnoway8O Sadly no im not its right handed. But give me a left handed rifle I can still shoot em with no problem

  • @RanchhandTCR at the start the bolt makes it look like its on the left side :(

  • @omgnoway8O Dont feel bad your not the first to ask me if its left handed lol.

  • im thinking about getting the .308 model of the 770

  • Depends on what your hunting if you hunting deer and varmints 243 a good choice if you hunting elk ad bigger game .308 has a little less recoil than a .270 and .270 is flat shooting. And if your looking at a .270 you might as well look at an ought six there very versatile cartridge. from 55g to 220 g bullets can be bought.

  • @RanchhandTCR .308 is a good cartridge if you do alot of big game hunting and is suitable for elk.

  • out of a .308 .270 or a .243 wat would be better for a 13 year old hunter in the remington 770 model

  • hey man, what type of ammunition do you use? thanks, review was great!

  • @Austinisflyy I reload my own ammuntion, I use Nosler Balistic tips or hornady Interlocs or Interbomds with CCI Magnum primers and 46Grains of Hodgon Varget. for 270 win. Hornady the best factory ammo in my oppinion and still affordable.

  • Thanks for your review. I have been looking at the 770 30-06 because it doesn't break the bank and I would only using it periodically for Texas deer and hog hunting. Your review convinces me this is the right way to go . I also agree with you, any new firearm really needs to be properly cleaned and lubed before using and after.

  • @patton1970 Looked at academy's website and a 700ADL is only $40 more, except it doesn't come with a scope. 700 definitely has a better stock which CAN be replaced/upgraded.

  • @dwwilliams72 If you can afford it buy a 700 its better than a 770, plus unlimitated choices of stocks, scope mounts triggers and bolts are available.

  • If you've ever cycled the action of an actual quality rifle you'll laugh when you cycle this one. I just bought a 270 for my daughter and the place I bought it didn't keep the bolt in the one they kept in the showcase. I know why now. It was definitely inexpensive, and does actually fire when you pull the trigger, and does shoot pretty good, but man it's a cheaply made gun. I can't believe Remington put their name on this thing. What's done is done.... no returns. Thanks for the video.

  • @HershEMann Yea I own a remington 700 and no it the action cannot compete with any guns except mossberg. You have to take one or the other the Gun Makers Beginer Specials. The savage axis has a smooth bolt but lousy accuracy. Remington has a crappy action buy great accuracy. If you want to make it smotther get some lapping compound and cycle the action during your favorite tv show.

  • Thats freakin hilarious

  • Is it acurate and reliable? Cause my friends Mossberg .270 bolt sticks when i try to cycle it, and i dont want the hogs to come after me if i just end up pissin em off

  • @Kalashnikill1947 This rifle will shoot as good as my Remington 700 30-06. The bolt a little sticky but if you use lapping compound and cylce the action until it gets a lilttle smother. Its cycles smoother loaded than unloaded also. As reliability it can get to negative 30 out where I live and its worked well Id trust the gun enough to go chase hogs with. As long as you have a good powerful cartrige the hogs will wake up pissed at the pearly gates and saint peter.

  • Yeah man, ive been thinking about getting one. I dont hunt all the time, but when i do i hunt hogs. So i guess this would be a good gun to have when i need it

  • @Kalashnikill1947 Ya there a decent gun esppically if you dont want to blow hard earned money on a expensive gun if you only goona use it once in a while. the 770 doesnt have alot of bell and whistles but it gets the job done.

  • whoa did you get that in the left hand version?!?!

  • @TheMHandDSfan No its right handed I even got the gun out to make sure haha.

  • You can't hear the video. Get better sound.

  • @garrison1776 Sorry bud cant help you there im no computer geek I rather shoot my computer sometimes.

  • Very Nice Review, Ranchhand!! In my opinion, for someone that doesn't hunt on a regular basis, maybe a couple times a year - one cannot go wrong with the Remington 770. As you say, why spend 700 to 1000 bucks on a "once in awhile" hunting rifle, when you can spend $300 or so on the Remington 770 and still get the same results in varmints, deer, elk, or black bear kills. Nice Job on your video

  • @ryeboy2u Thank you very much on your comment appreciate it.

  • nice rifle man

  • i dont fucking understande why people are wasting their time to make review on piece of crap like that

  • @fredoabdoe Hear why partner, not everyone has the money for 500 dollar rifle, If affordable and it works. Yes it not the Best gun in the world but it works and it gets the job done. Thats why I did a review on the gun. The accuracy of the rifle is just as good as a 700 just the cheap bolt is was makes it cheap. Also I would appreciate a better choice of words other than cussin. If there such a POS why are you lookin em' up?

  • @RanchhandTCR if they dont have the money they should buy a savage axis

  • @fredoabdoe thats a personal oppinion. The axis is not as accurate as a remington 770 in my experiance I have shot both this 770 and the axis was in a 30-06 Both guns have advantages a disadvantages, it all based on personal experiances, or wich gun a person likes better.

  • @RanchhandTCR

dont worry about this fredoadboe guy mate, if you look at his profile hes just trolling rifle videos bagging out everyone elses gear, he did the same on my weatherby vid.

  • @cladam81 Thats the kinda guy he is. Thanks for the info partner, I aint to worried about someone so low hes gonna go talk shit to everyone. Well thanks partner have fun out there take care!

  • I bought the same gun except it's the 7mm mag. Is it any different from the .270?

  • @jackjeckel5 7mm mag is different from a 270. 7mm mag uses a .264 bullet and 270 uses a .270 mm bullets so 270 a lilttle bigger but 7mm is a magnum cartrige so it has better ballistics than a 270.

  • @RanchhandTCR I see. Yeah I wasn't sure which to purchase there was the 770 7mm mag and the 770 .270 but I'm not sure which one would be more suitable for hunting deer. I haven't fired my rifle yet since I recently bought it. I tried the bolt on it and it is tiny bit sticky but I can work with it. I also still need to bore sight it because I don't think it's accurate right out of the box. I'm still new with these kind of rifles so if you have any tips please let me know.

  • @jackjeckel5 You bought a rifle able to kill a moose so if your deer gets away Im going to laugh. Ya you can bore sight them or take it to the ranger start at 5-10 yards then 50 then to 100yards and your good to go. They are accurate of the box the scope is not. Like I said in the vidieo strip the gun and give it a good cleaning and it will help the sticky bolt

  • @RanchhandTCR Thanks for the tips man. I guess I'll go moose hunting instead. haha I'm gonna go to a gun shop nearby and buy a cleaning kit for my rifle since I don't have one yet.

  • @jackjeckel5 Buy a one piece rod there stronger

  • Just got a 700. It is amazing and where do u find that gun grease

  • @cn969777 You can go to midway usa, cablas, I buy it from my local gun store.

  • Wat u mean bad experience with 243? Was thinking of gettin one of these 770's in 243 for hunting here in kansas. We get some pretty big deer, lots of coyotes, bobcats, groundhogs / woodchucks etc. Want something that can reach out far.

  • @SupremeAmerican For elk hunting its to light of a bullet. Dont get me wrong 243 is a good all round caliber from varmints to deer I just dont recomend it for the the Colorado elk but Im sure there some one out there usin a 243 on elk. For what youre gonna do its a perfect choice

  • i just got this gun today for my birthday. its got a stainless steel barrel i cant wait to shoot it!

  • @mrKawasaki531 Enjoy it bud. Keep up the practaice

  • How about the Remington M770 30.06.? I got one, like it, a cou[ple of people say GREAT!!! A LOT of others tell it is a cheap piece of shit?????? Your opinion PLEASE???? Also, I am trying to find and start using the "Tetra" Gun Grease. Thank you!

  • @DrCoots First off sorry for the late responce. THe 770 have the advantage they are cheap but the actions are a lil stubborn. We live in the extreams out here and the gun has handled well down to neg 30 degress. 30-06 is a very versatle round from 90 grains to 220 grains. THe barrles on 770 are very good just the action is iffy.

  • I am so glad you did this M770 Video! Thank you! You helped me withmy new 30.06. I have MANY Para Military Rifles and Shotguns, many Revolvers, SA Pistols, etc., etc., this is my first "Hunting" Hi Cal Rifle and you did help a lot!

  • @DrCoots Glad to help. Also for the tetra gun grease you can order it on Midway USA or if you have a Big R they sell it. Feel free to ask questions.

  • the first thing that i do is break it down and clean it....no telling how long its been not cleaned...i have the 300 win mag never shot it yet though...but we'll see

  • How many rounds have you put through it so far? I just picked one up. Awesome gun. I imagine the barrel is made of the same metal as the 700. I agree with you, the bolt isnt as smooth as your high dollar guns but it doesnt need to be. Its a tough gun.

  • @WinMOD42 Its my lil bros gun hes put at least 200 round and its still solid. We almost touched a coyote with it two days ago at 400 yards. Almost haha.

  • nice vid thx!!!!!:)

  • I did not know 770's came in left handed models.

  • hey, thanks for the review, i just got my hunting liscence and was looking into buying this gun since im still in school and have a tight budget. My biggest concern was the accuracy, compared to a 3000$ gun, i heard you get a good bang for your buck, but if you can let me know first hand how it fires thatd be great. Thanks for your time.

  • @SiG0uin Just today I shot a 2" circle at 200 yards, the gun accuate if not as accurate as my 700, for the price there a good gun just the action not as smooth as my 700 Im polishing the one on here. If your a competitor ya you can spen 3grand on a gun, but for big game hunting your not gonna shoot 1500 meters 50 times, For hunting and plinking the gun great Ill standbhind em, it operates fine in -30 weather and it done us good, I recommend it on the tight hunter.

  • @SiG0uin Also check your local walmart, Remington 700 SPS rifle are $397/ as much as we paidfor the 770 a year ago, and Remington 770 are $297 with a scope, not that nice of one though. Just be ready for the manager to kill most of your day, I spent 3 hrs tryin to get a 22 I passed my BG in 1 hr and took the manager another 2 so the Sporting goods guy could reteche the SOB for the 50th time how to fill out the ATF forms.

  • Great review mate. I'm from Australia and already have a 700 in s/s.223 just bought the 770 in .308. I was gettin a bit worked from all the negative reviews but your in depth and straight to the point review and advice has put my mind at easy. Thanks again mate appreciate the time you took to make this vid

    Matt

  • @TheMattCraig Thank you sir, I got two 700 one in 22-250 Rem,and the other in 30-06. Glad to be of help ever have any questions or advice I dont mind helpin just shoot me a message be glad to help

  • Great review! I am new to bolt action rifles and would like to get into hunting. I was thinking about this gun as well as the Weatherby Vanguard. Any opinion or experience with the Weatherby?

  • great video!!

  • @MarioAranda2010 Thank You!

  • if i lived near san antonio i be at your front door right now

  • i work at Academy in San Antonio and Academy sells the 700adl for $350 which the only difference between the adl and the sps is the hinged floor place. Basspro sells the 700 adl for around 550. We should be getting resupplied with more adls the 2nd half of this month.

  • @23SCRS23 What kinda of ammuntion are you using, the casing expands when fired also try putting a lil gun grease in the chamber and see if that helps you at all, Ive had this hppen to me with my 30-06 Remington 700 with shity chinese ammo, put try lubing the chamber andbolt lugs let me know how it goes be glad to give you advice, also dont lube where the bullet seats jus where the casing seats.

  • this guy should do all gun reviews, he just gets down to the real stuff

  • @270fan Thank you sir, appreciate that comment.

  • @270fan that my brother for yeah

we know more about guns than anything else

between the two of us we got it coverd

  • I belive there are 3 set screws on the trigger unless you know how to do it, take it to a gun smith and they will do it for you, the option to adjust your on trigger are only avilabe with guns that have the markx pro trigger or you know how to do triggers that are ot equiped with that system.

  • hey man great video again. do you know what the trigger pull is set for from the factory

  • @bobiscool308 around5 lbs an 4- 8 oz

  • @RanchhandTCR man thats alot. do you know how i can change it to like 3 pounds ro can i not change it at all

  • i just bought this gun a few days ago, mine is green and its a 270. i love it got it out of the box and within about 5 shots i was hittin a clay target at 200 yards after i got the bullet drop figured out

  • @MidSouthBowHunter Cool glad you happy with it! we mouneted a new scope on it a gave the stock a BDU camo paint job, we got it sighted in for 250 yards shoot true thats what important

  • @RanchhandTCR what do you mean it didnt work out so well for deer hunting did do more damage than you wanted?

  • @halomaster8597 didnt do enough.

  • i got a camo adl, adl is why its cheaper but 22-250 remington 700 and it only ran me like 490somthing with one box of cheap remington ammo and it came with a 4x12x40 i hear its a simmins with the remington r on it.love it

  • @chevroletTD geez wish I had that luck I own an adl 700 in 30-06 I paid 400 for it at a pawn shop had a chep bushnell sportsmans scope on it and a harris bipod, I put a differnt scope on it a bushnell banner 6-18X50mm and since I have a Bull barrel 22-250 it needed the bipod. I Paid 640 just for my sps varmint 22-250

  • @RanchhandTCR maybe giver take a few bucks but it was 450 new i told my wife were buying this today, i had to show him my inspection papers out of my glove box for proof of adress but got it that day, and a week later the same gun jumped back up over 500 just picked the right day at the right time i guess ill put a video of it on here soon i love the new caliber i picked everyone says its to light of a load but i say everything has a head and you can hit it with that gun,

  • hey bro,

i am about to get the remington 770 i was just wondering what caliber i should get. i am living in california now and i am trying to hunt deer only. many recommended .30-06 caliber with 180grain. let me know your thought bro. and what scope should i get for the upgrade. i checked out the stock scope and it is okay but many said it will not do its job well.

  • @quang405 30-06 is a good caliber no doubt, 270 would also work, I wouldent us 180 grain thats for more thicker game such as elk a 120-150gr should do the job just fine. Scope wse I like bushnell ALOT, good poor mans scope, My bro just bought a 70 buck walmart center point scope I belive its a 4-16X40mm Mil dot scope with OA adjustment and to our surpriese is very gret scope for the price the oly thing I would recomnd is gettin a different set of scoe mount ring medium should do just fine.

  • @RanchhandTCR The reason I say 120-150 grain is I expericed why 180 grains are not so efficient on a deer. I shoot a dee at 330 yards with my ought six and nailed hern the heart, but the entry hole was the size of 22 and te exit hole was no bigger then a guarter, was nice to have such a great pelt but the game and fish wanted to see the gun I used because they thought I wass ussing a 204 ruger, 150 will expand alot guicke a lil more damage but save the trackin.

  • I killed the sheriff...

  • @ss19800 gimme your address, and your number and Ill direct the correct athorites to you.

  • what scope comes on the 770 i know its a bushnell 3-9x40 but what model is it??is it a sportsmans

  • @TheChevyHulk Sportsmans scopes have an elk or deer emblem on the side, I dont know what scope is on th 770, I belive it may be the same as a sportsmans it not the best but It gets your started, We will be upgading to a bushnell soon since I missed the dead line for our leftover tags damn, and well be putting it on to our newest addition to the family a ruger 10/22

  • do you dip ??? lol jk great vid i like your views on things

  • @TheChevyHulk No I dont dip, I look like I do on video, I already have a bad addiction to guns dont need another. Thanks on your comment!

  • @LordEvilPepper Im a mauser lover, have a 1909 argentine calvary mauser, best bolt gun ever made in my oppnion, I own 2 remington 700's one a 30-06 spring fields the other is a 22-250 remington, and a Remington 870 Wingmaster and my 1909 mauser an Mossbrg 22 LR.

  • @LordEvilPepper Im sorry to hear that, Im actually kinda surpriesed, since during winter time we encounter, artic conditions and it has performed very well! My brother would object my oppinion, Yes I do agree this gun is cheap put all gun mufacturers are making cheap gun, to suit lower end class of hunters who cant afford higher priced, guns. In my oppinion the action and barrel are good not the bolt.

  • nice vid

  • is that left hand and a right hand gun

  • @rocketdog150 righthand, they make left hand

  • hey man really considering one in .308. i have heard people say the bolt feels really cheap and breakable? your opinion?

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @ibanezkid07 Its my gun so I know

the bolt dose feel CHEAP only becuse its a newer light weight design

the bolt is more of a tube feel than a big hunk of metal

Most times it feels bad becuse of the old lube left in

clean that out and you good

the rifle has an almost secondary chamber for the bolt and if you dont have a round to guide the casing it can wiggle up and down a little

just remember stores cant clean the gun so the bolt will be sticky JUST CLEAN IT!!!!!!!

  • @ibanezkid07 its decent gun, 308 a good alround caliber, I like my brother it does feel a lil cheap bolt wise but for the price its a good gun!

  • Hi paul

You should look at my chanel

Im gona trie to fix the sound and post a review of my 12 gauge
