I leased a 2006. It was nice until the emergency brake fell apart on the freeway and the airbag sensors had to be replaced. Well, I guess it happens.

I'm looking into buying a 95-99 M3. Have yet to own a BMW, but from everything i have seen... I think i will be a bmw fan in the future ;) Not that safety is a big thing to me, But.. its the whole package. Volvo may be safer, But they didn't start looking good until the latest redesign.

Go check out Volvo crash ratings... they probably have more cars with less than "Good" ratings (from IIHS) across board than BMW. This is especially true in side crash test ratings. Volvo = overrated Fords.

this is a very safe car, in the last two tests, especially the pole one, it didn't even seem like the dummy was effected, because the airbags did such a good job
