I confess I liked the American Godzilla as a kid as my first real introduction to him as a kid was that and the Hanna Barbara cartoon (which I thought was good when I was in preschool-kindergarten though it's certianly ruined by Godzuki), but I realize it is pretty flawed now. VERY flawed in fact. This series however looks like a big improvement! It makes me sad I didn't watch as many of the cartoons of the 90's as I should have. I thought we'd always have cartoons like those... but I was wrong.

At the season 2 of this series there's an episode that is not aired. And the monster in that episode did make an appearance in the series! You can only see him at the intro. His the one at 0:42 and 0:49 at the right side!

unlike the source material, the movie from 1998, this show does definately not suck.

i've been a godzilla fan for years and i really love this show. my only regret is that there are no episodes of it. the animation was pretty good, the monsters had a cool design and i always found the idea interesting that godzilla viewed the lead human character as his adoptive father.

It was a "Freak of the Week" type series featuring a team of "mystery solvers" who would be enlisted or take it upon themselves to solve a problem or mystery using their wit and assistance from their somewhat anthropomorphic pet. This is the basic formula for Scooby-doo. Just because there was one longer story arc that spanned several episodes dosen't detract from the similarities to Scooby-doo.

The creative team behind the show probably got the idea from watching Scooby-doo.

This show was never aired over here in Norway, fine for me, because the show wasn't so good. Zilla was the man hell yeah, but the human characters were waaay to different from how they were in the movie. The other dissapointment; he doesn't fight any classic monsters (except for Mecha-Godzilla), should've shown Rodan, Anguirus, Megaguirus and King Ghidorah.

actually he did fight them. it's that you did'nt know it because the creators of the series did homages to them by creating american versions of them. for example, quetslequatle in the bird of paradise episode was actually their version of rodan. and in the episode area 51 when he fights a giant thorny devil lizard, that was anguirus, megaguirus was a giant mosquito in the episode S.C.A.L.E. and well i don't know if they did one for king ghidorah.

This Godzilla Series was ok, but the only complaint I had was that Nick was the only major character from the movie to continue being a major character.

Three of the characters who played a large role in the film (Audrey, Animal, and Philippe) play a minor role in this series whereas two characters who played a minor role (Elsie and Mendel) now play a large role along with two new characters.

Kinda unfair to me, mostly because Audrey was my favorite character.

nope dude. this Godzilla was made in the U.S.A so that means no japan monster. sense is the American side story version it only has the movie of 1998 and follow by the animated series that you see in this video.
