I hate to burst someone's bubble but I will. Some of these closings (like this one) are NOT the original closings the show aired. This is not the original credit scroll, and the glittering jewel would turn and rotate producting sparks behind the credits also.....I hate it when people make their own stuff because others who have never seen this beautiful GL closing do not realize it's the original. Sorry...basically recreations piss me off.
I hope the final episode features closing credits and theme music without shrinking them. After all the years on CBS it's the least the network can do for The Guiding Light.
It was introduced in November 1985, not October 1985, as I said earlier. I just saw the Halloween 1985 episode, and it had the 1983 arrangement of the theme. The 1985 arrangement was introduced no later than Thanksgiving.
No it wasn't. I don't know why, but there were times when the full cast wasn't listed in the credits. I remember seeing that from time to time back then.

This arrangement of "My Guiding Light" was used from October 1985 to October 1986.

You mean Victor Garber wasn't on GL? I liked him in Godspell, same with Lynn Thigpen.
