Well, everyone says something very different. Personally, the category of the film was mentioned as romantic/horror/drama. So the film met my expectation at all. Yeah, you can´t look at it like at an attempt of the Oscar ceremony, it´s only for fans of this kind of films. In addition, pretty characters and enviroment.
The only good thing about this film was that it gave the werewolves real wolves as their animal form, not some anthropomorphic nonsense. Other than that, plot was killed. Don't name a movie after a book then put all of the major plot points in a blender and throw it against the wall.

They should have made an adaptation of The Silver Kiss instead, as cliche as the title sounds, being made that soon would have set the benchmark for good teen vampire movies *cough*hell.not.twilight*cough* with an actual plot and stuff.
As an adaptation of the book, this movie is blasphemous and a traitor. As a movie just being a movie, it isn't half bad. But it should /definitely/ not masquerade as the visual version of Blood and Chocolate.

That made me MAD MAD MAD....Gabriel may have been dominant and all alpha male, but in truth genuinely cared for the pack and Vivian.Aiden, in my honest opinion...was just a poser.(How did Rafe die in the film?)

However, I try to go into movies with an open mind, keeping in mind that a movie can be good even if it's not anything like the book that inspired it. That's how i felt about this particular movie.

Yet the European chocolates with liquor from Germany can be great. Where's the Chocolate? Centuries of Chocolate & not a fatty in the bunch....amazing huh?

The only things this movie has in common with the book is the topic of 'werewolves' and some of the characters names. Vivian was supposed to be 16, in High school, and living with her single MOTHER. Astrid was her hated, red-haired, aunt-figure in the pack. Aiden was supposed to bebohemian. Beads in his hair, a brilliant smile, and that damn jewel in his ear! I do think Hugh Dancy could have pulled off the roll as Aiden though. And, since when was Gabe a Mexican?

In my opinion, I think the setting in the movie is better.
But, the book has a better story line.
Mix these together carefully, and I think this would have been a better book, and movie.

Wow.. Changing from human to a simple timber wolf form is just so..boring.
Come on, you don't get THAT terrified with a wolf like you would get watching a big furry werewolf with 8 or 9 feets tall in front of you.
And besides, changing to wolf form was just a cheap way not to expend money with special effects to turn them into werewolfs.

* HER not Here. There is a place in Depere WI forget its name that has great chocolates. But its a bit expensive. Oak's candy in Oshkosh WI may be one of the best in the states. Yet the European chocolates with liquor from Germany can be great. Where's the Chocolate? Centuries of Chocolate & not a fatty in the bunch....amazing huh?

The only things this movie has in common with the book is the topic of 'werewolves' and some of the characters names. Vivian was supposed to be 16, in High school, and living with her single MOTHER. Astrid was her hated, red-haired, aunt-figure in the pack. Aiden was supposed to bebohemian. Beads in his hair, a brilliant smile, and that damn jewel in his ear! I do think Hugh Dancy could have pulled off the roll as Aiden though. And, since when was Gabe a Mexican?
