I'm gonna use all your Waits videos as living tabs :) This song always gets a good response, but your arrangements are WAY better than my poor guitar playing outcome.

How you noticed how good Tom songs are? It would be very easy to fall into the "whiny sad guitar guy" category with this acoustic numbers, but the sheer quality and feeling of the originals prevents that.

It's not because it deviates from the original (In fact, I appreciate it when a cover brings something new), but for the fact that I've always played and understood it as a barroom celebration drunken bachelors singalong. Your arrangement is more spoken-word "nighthawks" oriented. But kudos for givin' it your own style! Keep postin!

2nd: i know the chord progression goes like........ I IV V I IV V IV I IV I IV I IV V I IV V I... but on the third verse, the part that goes "this old tomcat feelings you dont understand" you replaced the IV chord with a different chord and it sounds really nice. what chord is that? sounds to me like a diminished chord but im not sure. please help.

Well, which guitar do you mean. The "main"-guitar is played in C. No capo on that one. And when it comes to "this old tomcat feelings you dont understand," I don't change the chord. Maybe it's the guitar in the background that plays it.
