  • Thank you for the memories. I was there 9/06 to 3/07 when we moved FOBS. It's nice to look back and see pictures of the things you don't think about often, like the airfield and stuff. thank you

  • I was on Speicher from 8/06-8/07. I was in the 1461st and i'm prolly in some of these pics with the HET's. I worked with you guys in the 514th a few times.

Oh and Scott Speicher's remains were recovered a few months ago in Iraq. He is no long MIA.

  • Yea. Wasn't he the first pilot shot down during the Gulf War? Sad story. My dad told me about it. He's in Speicher :)

  • I was deployed with the 927CSSB and I gave you guys support in your STAMIS equipment!!! CSSAMO all the way!!!

  • We took over Speicher (before it was called Speicher) from 1MEF Marines in April '03. We had Hajis in the wire all over the place and built the berms around the camp... lived in "found" Iraqi military tents for a year. Speicher is named that because of the initials found in one of the buildings ... "MSS" Michael Scott Speicher, Naval Aviator from Gulf War 1...the inference is that he was a POW there at some point. A few memories from the old OIF(1).

  • I helped lay gravel for that HET parking lot
