You figured it out, connected the dots, put it together, "2+2", by MAKING IT OBVIOUS that gyro-copters are flawed, simply because they are NOT like helicopters, and also, inversely, proving that helicopters ARE BETTER than gyro-copters because they are not like gyro-copters. Thus, WE KNOW, AS A WHOLE SOCIETY, that helicopters ARE BETTER than gyro-copters, but the reason people KEEP FUCKING MAKING GYRO-COPTERS is because their pride is getting in the way of, SIMPLY ADMITTING, that helicopters....
@BjamesTube ARE IN FACT BETTER than gyro-copters. This IS THE MEANING OF LIFE!!!!! Now, do you believe me, or do you not? (from the perspective of both a scientific and a religious aspect). Science and religion, prove me wrong. Just do it.
Even thou I personally have little interest in gyros, obviously un like you, I sure feel they have there place in aviation for numerous reasons.........
@Earssss The reason is that at 20 feet successful over autorotational landing is impossible, the heli will hit hard enough that it tares it self app art as the blade system slows down.
@UTubeGlennAR ,, yes true,,,seems i see alot of crashes are within inches of the ground,,, i would go high enuff for auto if there was a engine out,, i know as a fixed wing pilot,,, height is life,,, i love yr heli,,,
Safe hover auto alt. is general considered 3 to 5 feet. In a old Huey UH1 suspect U could almost get away safely at 20 feet but the gods would have to be with you. Infact the Army has a vid of a test hi alt hover auto, (not sure not alt.). If I remember correctly one of the test pilots back was broken just doing a 20+ foot hover auto in a UH1, the UH1 has perhaps the most inertia packed rotor system known-designed by man n still serious casualty from too high a hover..... BUT I COULD BE WORNG.
@UTubeGlennAR being afixed wing pilot ,, heli info is limited to me lol,, the only thing i have seen or heard is that the dead mans curve is under 50 feet and under 50 kts,, i would think that would be for big birds thou
All DMC are similar but all just depends on a/c gross weight n the mass if the rotor system. 50KPH n 50 agl gives you little chance to live in most helis thou.....
For me the exact opposite, I lovr fixed wings to go to London, but to go over to a buddy's for lunch, go fishing ect. rotary wings are the only to go for me.
Very easy to fly once one has the required skills.
And now that there are simulators around there is but no question whatsoever that one should have at LEAST 100 hours simulator time before first flight.
I learned before the modern simulator and can tell you that I have improved quite a bit with the help of simulators.
My personal favorite the 47, Saw my first 47 as a boy in 1955 or so n was hooked.
Only thing I would change on a 47 is the un natural feel of the collective due to it's length n pivot location in relation to the pilot's elbow joint. Just love even the sounds she makes.
ENJOY you 47 buddy, U are one fortunate dude IMHO.
Love to be your mate and share expenses with you from time to time with us both go for whirl together when the WX is un resist-able....
@UTubeGlennAR I am only 20 years old. I wish I had the money for this. Its my dream to have some sort of flying machine. I am going to buy a hang glider in the near future but this is awesome in its own way.
Suspect it is safe to say 99.9% of the pilots and or Air Craft owners on planet Earth are not flying/owning their dream A/C.
IMHO U R doing the correct thing, learn hanging from the best instructor you can find, even if you can not afford him/her. Than when you can move on/step up to another one, than do this again and again, it's like having a new girlfriend when you start to fly a new A/C....
Best wishes n remember, Always Get The Best Instructor You Can Find, this too is even fun...
@UTubeGlennAR Yes, my dream air craft is a fighter jet haha only like 15 million away. Also I was watching youtube videos of the techniques people use to stay in the air a long time. I'm learning patterns on where thermals would typically be and how to ride them. I like the idea of being in the air without any engine, just you and the air. But I also like the idea of owning your own mini helicopter haha. Who wouldn't love to have a mini helicopter. Have you owned more than just a heli? Tips?
Only tip I can offer is to learn first to enjoy the A/C that you can afford. Yes dream about the 15 million dollar fighter but be delighted that you have a hang glider not just a bicycle.
I'd be wary of "ending up in a box" flying that contraption. Plenty of people have been maimed, sliced and killed flying 'real' factory-built copters.
There is the traditional "Pilot Error", than there is a few steps worse that I call Pilot Stupidity.
Doing a practice emergency landing I did not monitor my Main Rotor blade often enough and did not have enough MR RPM to cushion my landing when I attempted to flair just 15 feet off the ground.
All I need to do was to twist my left wrist a half inch or so to add some RPM is all it would have taken. I killed the helicopter, luckily for me, it did not kill me.
@UTubeGlennAR Well, autos in a machine with not a whole lot of blade mass and disc are never going to be a piece of cake. Good that you're alive to tell about it. Thanks for the candid response.
Yes, this heli has more than 5 gal of fuel, faster than 100KM per hr and more than the weight limit (I forget this amount) so U need a license.
However
Since a helicopter keeps both feet, both arms, your left wrist, your right trigger finger, left thumb, your eyes, ears and mouth occupied, actually getting a license is a cheap insurance policy on both your life and your helicopter since it is next to impossible for 99.99% of the helicopter pilot want to bees to teach them self to fly.
@UTubeGlennAR Thanks for the reply - would that be a standard light aircraft license? Here in South Africa it's very expensive, probably the equivalent of 20 000 Dollars with the required flight hours. Commercial license would be approx 60 000$ I think.
Not sure at all in your country. In the USA it is a standard license. I only know of one guy in SA that should know, his name is Henny and he builds n flys HeliCycle, perhaps you can Google him.
Nonetheless, if you are serious best start by spending time at the local airports.
Flying is vary costly n since helis can do more than airplanes, there is more to learn so it is never gonna be cheepe.....
@UTubeGlennAR Thanks I will have a search for Henny and see. A friend of mines wife did her commercial chopper pilot license and it cost half a million Rand about 8 years ago, so I doubt I could even afford the standard license! Guess I'll have to keep playing the lottery!
Yes, n I too need to continue to play the lottery since I would like to buy a CH77 next.
Best wishes with what ever you do, even riding a bicycle.
Hey, I just remembered, I now fly a SegWay X2, in ways it is like hovering at 20 cm all the time. You to may enjoy this if you have the interesting trails to ride it on..... AND they are lots cheeper then a heli by many miles/KM.
@UTubeGlennAR Aaah well I wish you the best of luck with he lottery sir! I do mountain bike quite a bit, also enjoy 4x4ing when I get the chance, it's just flying that seems a little out of my reach financially. Who knows, I'm only 38, as long as my eyesight remains okay I might get to fly some day! The X2 looks like a lot of fun, some of our police use use the city versions here. Thanks for all your replies, good to chat to you!
Yes, good to chat w/U 2, one last comment. Do keep in mind n realize, the older you get the slower we ALL learn new things, so, remember it will cost you more to earn you license as you mature. I know first hand. It sur did for me.....
Yip, I can understand you wanting one too, It just takes money that's all.
I often thought of it and called it a dirt bike that flew.
I am un happy I don't have one now but I am delighted I had one than.
So now at 62 under challenging economic times, I just need to continue to always remember that it is 100% up to me to remember the glass is half full n forget about it as ever being half empty.
I had it over 3,ooo' AGL a few times, I forgot what the POH had tested it to but over 2X - 3X this Number I am sure.
VFR aircraft, especially helicopters generally have not reason to go higher that 3k AGL which was the case for me too, so I only was over 1,ooo AGL a few time in my 130 hours I flew this bird.......
@chrismofer Not sure how your comment relates to the first flight of a kit helicopter in 1995 but, Thanks for your comment n Happy New Year wishes to you n yours..........
Excellent n Correct way to describe flying a helicopter that arrived in a box that you assembled and test flew your self ("lot of nerve-wrackin, teeth-chatterin, and death grippin good fun").........
I had a hard time sleeping the night before I first flew it but also could not wait to do so.
I was a WOC in 1970 when demand was high for RW pilots, vary few qualify than and vary few end up graduating..... Probably not changed much in the past 4o years me thinks....
I know where U can mail order a new one in kit from Argentina.... U will need to Google Cicara helicopteros since uTube will not allow me to place a URL or eM address here.
Yes true but perhaps the new invention called telephoto lens was used and the person with the video camera was actually further away than it looks????
@dannyfivefifty It is a CH7 now the inventor makes the CH7B, better engine n slightly different cabin. If interested Google Augusto Cicare or Cicare Helicoptero (sorry uTube will not allow me to add a URL in it's comment area).
@dannyfivefifty CH-Angel Helicopter (can't u read the title of the video). I want to know, just seconds ago, so I could look it up. And i saw it in the title of the video (straight-away).
# 1. Don't understand this question/statement, sorry.
#2. No, I am licensed. Since helicopters can do so much more than airplanes, things can go to hell in half a second so lots of good training is a must but only if you value your life and or helicopter. Take a look at the UTube vid called "helicopter crash new student with no instructor" for some first hand proof.
Here in the USA dual heli training time is OVER $4.00 US a MINUIT...........
I have a good Kiwi heli pilot friend in Auckland, a old high school from the US living in Wangaray n have flown at North Shore airport once in the late 90s.....
If U at all can afford 2-I would strongly encourage any1 2 follow there dreams.
For me, the rewards are far reaching in ways you never would imagine. Example just yesterday, a heli pilot I met because we both built/owned/fly this same helicopter called me from New Zealand 2 discuss our plans to attend the premiere fly-in at Oshkosh this summer together.
On the down side, at 62 years old now, I sure could now use all the tens of thousands of dollars I spent on flying in my retirement account.
@UTubeGlennAR Well at 57, I sure wish I had spent the money and time in my flying hobbie. Instead, I've reached this age without retirement account, and no hobbies. You are one lucky guy just to be able to get up and fly your ship. You heli looks really good, in fact it i the first I ever liked of the small ones. When I got my pilots license back in 1973 I was living in Puerto Rico and every day at 7 am for a year while still a student I would fly one hour, just flying around. It was great
What kind of experience did you have before you started flying this? Did you already have your rotor wing license? And have you ever tried flying RC Heli's?
Since helicopters can do so much more than air planes, they also can get you in to lethal trouble lots faster than airplane in just moments. This being the case I decided a serious insurance plan on my health n safety was in order. So I decided to get formal & serious training and prove it by earning two helicopter licenses.
R/C:
Yes, lotsO fun but it does not compare one bit to flying full sale. I may do R/C more when I get older n slow down.
@Nomoreidsleft A big Yes and thank you. I first learned this little tid bit of no insurance coverage to private pilots info in 1969 when the insurance vultures were trolling the troops for customers when I was stationed at Ft. Monmouth NJ in the signal corps. As soon as I told them I had my PPL they never bothered me again.....
@UTubeGlennAR The insurance issue can eat you alive. Specially make sure you check everything if you have life insurance. When I got my life insurance, they got my medical records and discovered the doctor had "discussed" with me alternatives to vicodin, such as medicinal pot. I refused since I felt it was unnecessary, in fact I eliminated the vicodin and I'm ok. Just that conversation, my rate went to 360.00 per month from 100.00.
Seems to me that the healthcare system in this country first priority is to make a small handful of CEOs, medical salesman n specialists MDs mega wealthy at the rank n file's expense.
Friends don't let friends fly 2-strokes! :) I'd love to build the Kompress but can't justify having that much money in a non-certified craft. Very difficult to get your money back if you ever need to move on... and you could get a used R22 for the same price. It's just the R22 is not nearly as FUN!
@erkq And when they found out I had been a private pilot since 1973, they wanted an extra 600.00 per month on my policy. I had to convinced them I had not flown for over 15 years before they relented it. So being a pilot, heli or fixed wing, and dealing with life insurance is really a major task to face. I've been thinking about buying a new sports category plane, but because of the life insurance I hesitate, as the security of my family is more important than my interests. It's really a shame.
Even funnier, I think you spelt something wrong in your message to me complaining about my imperfect spelling ability. Using the conjunction for he is requires an apostrophe, example he's. You may note that you spelt it hes in your message to me. You also did not capitalize the first letter of the beginning of your sentence. Also the words "can spell vary" at the end of your comment do not fit the context of your sentence vary well. Best regards from the ignorant helicopter kit builder.
yea correct, problem is I am too afraid of flying, afraid of the diffeculty and failure of soemthing, pessimist at its best, that how I feel regarding helis
Your reasons are some of the same reasons it was a bitter sweet moment for me I guess on my first flight. But it you have the desire, time, money and patients to learn and maintain a helicopter, it truly us a magic carpet.
so wow helicoptering is so hard even if one got experience... I should forget about building and flying helicopter myself. I have no idea how hard it is to fly a helicopter, that is the problem. I fly remote controlled collective cyclic helicopters, rc airplanes, know the theory , flew simulators, got a ride in a R44 but dies to know how it is to "control a hover "
I truly think it is more difficult to fly old fashion R/C helicopters than full scale helis. So the flying part may be easy for you, especially if you are young.
.
Just start our by getting your license, take one 1 hour lesson n see what you think. But don't fool your self n buy a ultra lite heli n think you are not gonna most likely kill your self with out lotsO good training. Sad to say many do and have. A heli can do so much more so it is exposed to more opportunities to loose control.
Hey Man, I had more than 15o hours but less than 2oo hours. I had also earned my commercial license by that time too.
.
I feel earning a license is in ways a cheap insurance policy on you life and your helicopter since helicopters can kill you in a few seconds of indecision.
@UTubeGlennAR thanx for the quick reply. So, why was it hard to hover at first when you had 150 hrs time? just asking you know, I am intersted in helicopters
I was not hard at all, this little helicopter kit was a great design n it flew vary well, I was just to scared to death. Remember, I was the builder, rotor system balancer ect. AND THE TEST PILOT with zero training on any of this stuff other than how to fly a R22.
.
Than to add to that pressure, if I crash it, I am also the one that was out the BIG BUCKS ($42,000).....
This vid footage is from 1995, some 15+ years ago. This exact heli is no longer manufactured any more. However the designer has a updated version vary similar to this one but better. Search CICARE S.A. Helicopteros on Facebook.
.
License:
As you know, a helicopter can do so much more than a airplane , this means there are more opportunities to make a lethal mistake when flying any heli. Suggest you consider getting a license as just a cheep insurance policy on YOUR LIFE.
Wow, look at you 15 years ago? No grey hair, lighter, and you had it for sale? Amazing flying the first day, you must have had a lot of hours already. Is it one of those "you never forget" things like riding a bike?
Example during my last flight I forgot to immediately re check my main rotor RPM after entering a practice auto.
Due to my lower than normal alt. n air speed entry, time when by fast n the RPM did not return to the green, when pulled back the cyclic to flair, nothing happened n I totaled her. :(
Oh no! Hope you worn't hurt. When did that happen? Do you still have it? Is it fixable? My auto a few days ago started 150ft, at about 70 feet I pulled back a bit and it didn't respond - I got scared, pulled collective and bingo the cyclic responded. All I can figure is that I might not have reduced throttle enough and together with too much down collective I might have got close to 0 G's.
What alt & ias on entry?
Roll off throttle collective (all the way?) or at the same time? or?
Happened 5+ years ago, no, I was not hurt but the chopper was killed.
Yes, lotsO good parts available in her but lotsO money to repair too, I sold here as parts.
Normally I practiced an auto n entered at 75mph - 8oo feet. I probably was 4oo AGL n 50 mph on my last auto..... I Goofed BIG TIME........
Great/strong little choppre design by Augusto Cicare, Google him n search him on uTube, he has built 14+ from scratch to date. His design saved my life.....
I still have a picture of 1:45 in a box along with others of this awesome machine from the time I chased this dream. The dream is still there but I am just not chasing it. WOw what things would have changed had I bought Miss Nina. Just last year I could have sworn a red CH 7 passed me on the hwy here in Arkansas.
Yes, If I would have not chased the dream I would have easy $100,000 more in my IRA I suppose :( :) ?
The Itlian manufacture is still making the CH-7 Kompress I here. The designer of the CH-7 is now up to the CH 12 and presently converting a CH-7 into a radio controled drone (his youngest son called last night in fact).
HI @ UTubeGlennAR - I saw this clip and its really very amazing..To be very honest, i am also planning to built one single seater helicopter. I searched alot in google and I need your advise too. My question are - how much HP engine do I need and what will be the size of rotor blades.. Can I use wooden blades in first few fly testings ? Much appreciated if you can give me the right direction
Sounds lie you intend to design your own helicopter. If you are vary talented in MANY subjects you can do this. I was not so smart so I purchased a kit n had others help me..
Yes, first certificated helicopter in the USA uses wooden blades. But using wood causes MANY now challenges n I do not think this is wise.
HP:
This helicopter was 449 pounds n had a 65hp motor. Less weight needs less hp, more weight/wooden blades needs more HP.
Sorry to hear this, there are many parts in a helicopter considered "Jesus nuts" or bolts. U just have time enough to say" Jesus Christ" n shortly after that it is over but the dust could.
Again, truly sorry for your family's giant loss.
Hopefully your family gets some relief knowing he died doing something he loved, Glennnnnn
She was a good girl Miss NIna, never let me down, not even once. Flew her for 120+ hours until I made a vary hard landing in her (100% pilot error) on day..... Sadly I sold her bones however, one day we may see her in the sky again hopefully.
I got lotsO raw footage flying Ms Nina. I plan to post more video in the not to distant future. So if U like stay tuned for more of her scootin around the friendly skies.
I remember Miss Nina. I watched this bird for a long time. I wanted her. Still do. I either called or talked with you in an email when she was for sale. Close so close but family responsibilities brought me to my senses and I had to let the dream go. I finally found flight in a hang glider. Yep I foot launch off mountains. Flight is a glorious thing. I know you miss her. Wow I still have some pictures I printed all those years ago. Glad I stumbled on Miss Nina again

THANKS for your compliment but honestly speaking, lotsO luck too
but
perhaps most of all, Exceptionally well designed little helicopter,
a designer that designs out of passion helicopters vs most modern products these days that are designed out of the passion for money.........
If you like Google this designer, he has designed no less than 15 helicopters FROM SCRATCH.
U can Google him using the words Augusto Cicare I believe.

whats the ceiling on that thing? how high can it fly?
shugnst 1 month ago
@shugnst:

1. it's very, not vary
2. was this ur first time to pilot or have u had any training?
mynameisntmicah 7 months ago

@UTubeGlennAR you working as a Pilot for a Company now man? I wanna train to be a Heli Pilot but it's do damn expensive here in New Zealand. :(

Here in the USA dual heli training time is OVER $4.00 US a MINUIT...........
I have a good Kiwi heli pilot friend in Auckland, a old high school from the US living in Wangaray n have flown at North Shore airport once in the late 90s.....

cheddar1100 9 months ago
If U at all can afford 2-I would strongly encourage any1 2 follow there dreams.
For me, the rewards are far reaching in ways you never would imagine. Example just yesterday, a heli pilot I met because we both built/owned/fly this same helicopter called me from New Zealand 2 discuss our plans to attend the premiere fly-in at Oshkosh this summer together.
On the down side, at 62 years old now, I sure could now use all the tens of thousands of dollars I spent on flying in my retirement account.
UTubeGlennAR 9 months ago
@UTubeGlennAR Well at 57, I sure wish I had spent the money and time in my flying hobbie. Instead, I've reached this age without retirement account, and no hobbies. You are one lucky guy just to be able to get up and fly your ship. You heli looks really good, in fact it i the first I ever liked of the small ones. When I got my pilots license back in 1973 I was living in Puerto Rico and every day at 7 am for a year while still a student I would fly one hour, just flying around. It was great
malanga13 9 months ago
What kind of experience did you have before you started flying this? Did you already have your rotor wing license? And have you ever tried flying RC Heli's?
jdsnowboy 11 months ago
Thank you for your message.
What experience:
Since helicopters can do so much more than air planes, they also can get you in to lethal trouble lots faster than airplane in just moments. This being the case I decided a serious insurance plan on my health n safety was in order. So I decided to get formal & serious training and prove it by earning two helicopter licenses.
R/C:
Yes, lotsO fun but it does not compare one bit to flying full sale. I may do R/C more when I get older n slow down.
UTubeGlennAR 11 months ago
@UTubeGlennAR Better let your insurance company know that you fly helicopters, otherwise they WILL refuse to pay if you ever die while flying.
Nomoreidsleft 9 months ago
@Nomoreidsleft A big Yes and thank you. I first learned this little tid bit of no insurance coverage to private pilots info in 1969 when the insurance vultures were trolling the troops for customers when I was stationed at Ft. Monmouth NJ in the signal corps. As soon as I told them I had my PPL they never bothered me again.....
UTubeGlennAR 9 months ago
@UTubeGlennAR The insurance issue can eat you alive. Specially make sure you check everything if you have life insurance. When I got my life insurance, they got my medical records and discovered the doctor had "discussed" with me alternatives to vicodin, such as medicinal pot. I refused since I felt it was unnecessary, in fact I eliminated the vicodin and I'm ok. Just that conversation, my rate went to 360.00 per month from 100.00.

I agree 100%, the Kompress is TOO MUCH MONEY for an experimental.
.
However, 60,ooo US will get you a single seat CH-7B kit powered by a Rotax 912 - 4 stroke.
.
Think this is half the price of the Kompress???
UTubeGlennAR 1 year ago
Friends don't let friends fly 2-strokes! :) I'd love to build the Kompress but can't justify having that much money in a non-certified craft. Very difficult to get your money back if you ever need to move on... and you could get a used R22 for the same price. It's just the R22 is not nearly as FUN!
erkq 1 year ago
@erkq And when they found out I had been a private pilot since 1973, they wanted an extra 600.00 per month on my policy. I had to convinced them I had not flown for over 15 years before they relented it. So being a pilot, heli or fixed wing, and dealing with life insurance is really a major task to face. I've been thinking about buying a new sports category plane, but because of the life insurance I hesitate, as the security of my family is more important than my interests. It's really a shame.
malanga13 9 months ago
Even funnier, I think you spelt something wrong in your message to me complaining about my imperfect spelling ability. Using the conjunction for he is requires an apostrophe, example he's. You may note that you spelt it hes in your message to me. You also did not capitalize the first letter of the beginning of your sentence. Also the words "can spell vary" at the end of your comment do not fit the context of your sentence vary well. Best regards from the ignorant helicopter kit builder.
UTubeGlennAR 1 year ago
funny hes smart enough to build a helicopter but can spell very...
16piller16lol 1 year ago
yea correct, problem is I am too afraid of flying, afraid of the diffeculty and failure of soemthing, pessimist at its best, that how I feel regarding helis
leviterande 1 year ago
Your reasons are some of the same reasons it was a bitter sweet moment for me I guess on my first flight. But it you have the desire, time, money and patients to learn and maintain a helicopter, it truly us a magic carpet.
UTubeGlennAR 1 year ago
@leviterande you could allways auto rotate
16piller16lol 1 year ago
so wow helicoptering is so hard even if one got experience... I should forget about building and flying helicopter myself. I have no idea how hard it is to fly a helicopter, that is the problem. I fly remote controlled collective cyclic helicopters, rc airplanes, know the theory , flew simulators, got a ride in a R44 but dies to know how it is to "control a hover "
leviterande 1 year ago
I truly think it is more difficult to fly old fashion R/C helicopters than full scale helis. So the flying part may be easy for you, especially if you are young.
.
Just start our by getting your license, take one 1 hour lesson n see what you think. But don't fool your self n buy a ultra lite heli n think you are not gonna most likely kill your self with out lotsO good training. Sad to say many do and have. A heli can do so much more so it is exposed to more opportunities to loose control.
UTubeGlennAR 1 year ago
Hi man, how many total hours of flight and training did you have prior to that video?
leviterande 1 year ago
Hey Man, I had more than 15o hours but less than 2oo hours. I had also earned my commercial license by that time too.
.
I feel earning a license is in ways a cheap insurance policy on you life and your helicopter since helicopters can kill you in a few seconds of indecision.
UTubeGlennAR 1 year ago
@UTubeGlennAR thanx for the quick reply. So, why was it hard to hover at first when you had 150 hrs time? just asking you know, I am intersted in helicopters
leviterande 1 year ago
I was not hard at all, this little helicopter kit was a great design n it flew vary well, I was just to scared to death. Remember, I was the builder, rotor system balancer ect. AND THE TEST PILOT with zero training on any of this stuff other than how to fly a R22.
.
Than to add to that pressure, if I crash it, I am also the one that was out the BIG BUCKS ($42,000).....
UTubeGlennAR 1 year ago
Where do I get one:
This vid footage is from 1995, some 15+ years ago. This exact heli is no longer manufactured any more. However the designer has a updated version vary similar to this one but better. Search CICARE S.A. Helicopteros on Facebook.
.
License:
As you know, a helicopter can do so much more than a airplane , this means there are more opportunities to make a lethal mistake when flying any heli. Suggest you consider getting a license as just a cheep insurance policy on YOUR LIFE.
UTubeGlennAR 1 year ago
This is very cool! Where could I get one? Do you need special licenses to fly one of these?
mondays89 1 year ago
Wow, look at you 15 years ago? No grey hair, lighter, and you had it for sale? Amazing flying the first day, you must have had a lot of hours already. Is it one of those "you never forget" things like riding a bike?
LarryCanFly 2 years ago
No, U sure can forget lots.
Example during my last flight I forgot to immediately re check my main rotor RPM after entering a practice auto.
Due to my lower than normal alt. n air speed entry, time when by fast n the RPM did not return to the green, when pulled back the cyclic to flair, nothing happened n I totaled her. :(
UTubeGlennAR 2 years ago
Roll off throttle collective (all the way?) or at the same time? or?
LarryCanFly 2 years ago

Just last year I could have sworn a red CH 7 passed me on the hwy here in Arkansas.
steviewonderwind 2 years ago
Not sure what you mean by "1:45"....?
Yes, If I would have not chased the dream I would have easy $100,000 more in my IRA I suppose :( :) ?
The Itlian manufacture is still making the CH-7 Kompress I here. The designer of the CH-7 is now up to the CH 12 and presently converting a CH-7 into a radio controled drone (his youngest son called last night in fact).
Thanks for your eM, glennnn
UTubeGlennAR 2 years ago
Reality is that safe flying machines are not in expensive. So, you ask "for a good price".....
A kit 2 seat helicopter when you do not take into account your time is the most in expensive way to own a 2 seat helicopter.
Good luck.....

Much appreciated if you can give me the right direction
abheykang 2 years ago
Sounds lie you intend to design your own helicopter. If you are vary talented in MANY subjects you can do this. I was not so smart so I purchased a kit n had others help me..
Yes, first certificated helicopter in the USA uses wooden blades. But using wood causes MANY now challenges n I do not think this is wise.
HP:
This helicopter was 449 pounds n had a 65hp motor. Less weight needs less hp, more weight/wooden blades needs more HP.
Good luck
