Well, I think anyone sensible should reckon the current seriousity of the NMF quake, when combined with the fractured sea floor in the Gulf of Mexico. If there's a huge NMF quake and those huge splits and holes in the sea floor of the Gulf of Mexico, this might just cause the Gulf of Mexico to flood into the cracked up New Madrid Fault, causing a cracking apart of the USA territory and killing dozens of millions of people.... it's just an educated gues...

LOTS on NMF info on YT and Google.I mostly read all of that.About 15? yrs ago there was a 90 yr old man lived in OLD unheated cabin fault crevace ran thru his cabin! He had a few lucky? guesses on minor shakes. Became famous around town. Then network TV began to flw him.Town in PANIC! Thousands fled for months.Others came to watch the end of the world. He quietly died at abt 92.

@87solarsky also - sensing profit - insurance companies sold earthquake insurance to all within 250 miles of NMF. My agent apologized to me for the lunacy but said it was an ORDER from the top. They sold tons of policies. Good for one years. $5K deductible and top of $40K. Basically no coverage at all as normal damage of quakes few hundred miles away a few thousand dollars. But thousands paid $300 to buy worthless coverage. These were respected ins companies too! Greed wins.
