  • This group is superb! This song is difficult enough (at least on clarinet) at the correct tempo, and they're playing it super-fast.

  • Is it just me or does the piccolo player arch her head depsite the fact that her piccolo is almost parallel with the ground?

  • @buzzy918. Haha. That's me. I think it was just my tendency to angle my head down plus the angle at which I was sitting. Could've been, though. It was three and a half years ago...

  • wow.. this is fantastic.. NICLEY DONE! especially at this speed!

  • @bandboy1 You're telling him to model his group after this one, and you don't even know what his group is?

  • arkansas all-state wind symphony played it this fast. the timpani part for this was so fun.

  • nice!!

  • Nicely done. Since the tempo is marked 144+, and the they perform this faster, that means they are spot on. Any faster and you start to lose the harmonic integrity. It's a great work though.

  • we played this song for Texas high school all state this fast

  • no it was slower then this by like 20 beats

  • there is a recess chocolate commercial that has a song in the backround the sounds exactly like this one...

  • No. It's a song from The Planets suite by Gustav Holst. I think it was Jupiter.

  • Just goes to show how many of the most contemporary composers are recycling the music of older composers as opposed to generating anything original. e.g. John Williams is reminiscent of Tchaikovsky in quite a bit of his music.

  • thats Jupiter from the planets by Holst

  • Is this Dr. Rumbelow on the podium???

  • yes.. you can tell by the hair flipping in the back.......oh and the conducting gestures too

  • DAMN!!!!

  • our high school just recently got this piece to look at.....

challenging!!!! but i'm a freshman, but can still get it

  • yea we already played this 1, right now were looking at shastakovich's symphony no. 5, machu picchu, ave maria, and march to the scafold. pardon my spelling on those im not a good speller only tubist

  • o side mark to this you should mention who is conducting this

  • ahah my group is playing even a little faster then this... it kills people but its fun

  • i want to play this song, too bad im not good enough

  • I'm surprised such a recognized group would play a piece like this. Well done though.

  • This tempo is more fun!

Did you happen to get anything else from this concert?

  • Our opener for our marching band show is based on this song this year. Parts of it are really challenging, but its a great piece.

  • We did as well! :o Warren?

  • I'm playing this. All I can say is that it's challenging. REALLY challenging.

  • well I think it is played at the right tempo. The other groups I have heard seem to make it boring. I think this group has the technical ability to do it at this tempo.

  • well there is a difference between playing it fast with clarity vs. fast without the clarity. I believe this group plays it at an adequate tempo with extreme clarity and class. This is definitely a group yours should model after.

  • Cavallo you just got OWNED!!!

  • you have to try to clap at 1:06 the same time as that thing that claps :D. its fun.

  • -FIRST COMMENT- This is fast...
